Captain America: The Winter Soldier (Pre-release)

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

By the looks of Chris Evans' wardrobe and hair Steve Rogers is being much more integrated into the modern era than in the avengers.
Personally I liked how Steve Rogers kept a vintage wardrobe in the avengers as it maintained that he is still a fish out of water.
In a few pictures it also looks like he isn't as buff as in TFA, but that could just be lighting.
I'm liking the new suit and even though it lacks flair, you have to remember that that's Steve Rogers' character, modest.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Quite a epic battle sequence showcased in that concept art.

I am glad we get to see little more of Peggy Carter.

Marvel One-Shot AGENT CARTER Images and Poster Featuring Hayley Atwell | Collider

"The short centers on Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter character from the first Captain America film, as we pick up with Carter a year after the events of the The First Avenger as she’s hunting down Zodiac. The short also features the return of Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, and stars West Wing alum Bradley Whitford (huzzah!) as Carter’s sexist, bureaucratic boss Agent Flynn. While the One-Shot will debut exclusively for Comic-Con audiences next Friday night, everyone will get a chance to check it out eventually, as it’s included on the Blu-ray release for Iron Man 3."

So I'm guessing she's after the zodiac key and that's how they bring Coulson back in the tv show?

Captain America: The Winter Soldier Teaser Poster

There's something that's been bothering me about this poster, and when I zoomed in I realized what it is.
The red rings have the "metal" shaded as being over the red paint as opposed to being the raw metal under the red.
It may not be the intention, but it looks like someone took a clean image of the shield and "drew" a metal effect over the already red ring, and when shading the layers, the metal seems to be floating over the red.
I've showed it to a few friends, and they see it too. Are we crazy, or does anyone on here see what I am talking about?

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Well spotted Heroes Armory, that is exactly what I noticed two days ago and I wondered if my eyes were playing tricks on me, cause sometimes there is that illusion where you can't figure out which is the actual top surface. Judging by the shadow of the silver coating it looks like it is on top of the red, instead of being the other way around.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Thank you for comfirming my sanity! (At least in this aspect) ;)
I'm guessing the error comes from a careless and/or rushed art job.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

I actually see it the other way around...

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

If you imagine the bright light shining on it from the upper right corner, all of the shadows are being cast as if the metal layer is on top.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

It is a visual illusion. Brighter objects appear closer and is the reason for thinking the layers are reversed.

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Third3ye great find, I hope you are correct and it is an artist error in the painting and not a reinterpretation like they did with the shield.

There's a rumor about something that Steve does in Winter Soldier that could lead to him wearing his original Cap suit (I'd say what, but didn't see a way to hide the text as a spoiler), so it's possible the drawing is not totally correct.

True, and I've seen that happen with other art and props, but I'm having a hard time overcoming the illusion. :lol

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

The rumor I read (probably in this thread someplace) was that Rogers breaks into the Smithsonian and steals TFA costume.
I really hate the 'Steve Rogers, Agent of SHIELD costume we've seen so far, so a return to the TFA costume would be great.

That's the same thing I read. Also, I totally agree with you on the AOS costume. It's not doing anything for me at the moment. It looks so plain and bland. It doesn't need to have pizzazz and sparkle, but the fit and style just seem really low budget.

Now, how'd you do that spoiler tag? Is it a code I can manually type in?
like this?
Aha ha! It is like that. :facepalm

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Okay, I'm on record stating that I believe the costume we see there will be in the movie AS DRAWN. I don't think Mr. Meinerding makes these sorts of "mistakes. Pretty cool!

Looks like you're right. Pic from SDCC shows they did make some changes to the TFA outfit.

Most obvious one is the red strips along the mid-section. More subtle changes are how the shoulder pads wrap around the bicep and changing the color of the cosmetic straps that go over the shoulders to blue instead of gray. Looks like it's missing the wings on the side of the helmet, wonder if the film will have them.

Wow, I hope this means we are going to see more of Dum Dum Dugan and The Howling Commandos as well.

It would be really sweet if we got a hint at James Falsworth becoming Union Jack as well.

I agree, I'd love to see more of The Howling Commandos in action!

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

devincf: MARVEL ONE SHOT: AGENT CARTER is really fun. They should have these in front of the Marvel movies.

colliderfrosty: Just watched the premiere of Marvel's short AGENT CARTER. Extremely well done. Much better than last year's.

devincf: Hayley Atwell is really wonderful in AGENT CARTER. Kicks ass in a big way. Story has a nice strong, competent woman thing going on.

devincf: AGENTS OF SHIELD should have flashbacks to Agent Carter. That needs to be a thing that happens all the time.

colliderfrosty: Hope everyone gets to see AGENT CARTER without reading spoilers as there are a few really great surprises. #sdcc #marvel

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

I understand that they're probably going for stealth with the lack of red on the suit and shield, but it just doesn't feel like cap to me.
