Captain America Shield V 2.0

I was inspired by your shield and was watching your youtube vid almost 3 times a day and it seems that I can't get the gloss that you have on the red. I put 3 coats on them and waited 5-7 min per coat. There are spots that are shiny and some are not. Do I continue and wet sand then spray gloss it or restart? When I took the tape off also there are some rust spots that showed up but I think I can just spin it again with the stripper pad. Any tips?

I had this when I made my first shield. These paints are super tricky. You could strip it and start over. When I paint, I do it vertically and go like 6 inches away from the shield. A lot of people do wet coats instead of multiple light coats. Its how I got mine super shiny ^_^ I would just wetsand and then gloss it. Wet Sanding removes the gloss from the paints anyway! It will also remove the rust. So I would just wet sand with a super high grit (1000-2000 grit) and then gloss it. You really want to wetsand your gloss. After you wet sand the gloss, I really recommend getting a auto compound. It polishes it up. Walmart has a really good one for about $9.00. Good Luck!

Stripped and repainted it again today and its a little better than yesterday but it looks like I failed again. More shiny parts on the red this time but it still looks like crap. I even dripped a paint on a part of the shield and tried to wipe it off then painted over it. The result is in the last pic. Heres what I did today. I painted it with a light 1st coat and I barely see the paint then waited 7 min after to apply another coat then waited another 7 min to apply the heavy coat since I can barely see any shine that is why I applied a heavy coat and this is the result. What step did I miss?
