Hey guys, I know the shield has been beaten to death on here and there's a really straight forward approach using spun aluminum blanks. But for those of us out there that like to make things harder on ourselves, have any of you tried using a plannishing hammer?
Back in College I made my first shield using an english wheel, and it worked (Sort of). It wasn't perfect like the spun ones people have for sale, but from most angles it looked pretty great. This time around, I'm wanting to give it a try with aluminum that's a little thicker (maybe 3/16in) and use a plannishing hammer.
