Can't find Tony Stark's sunglasses from Iron Man 3

20220913_191023.jpg

I think these could be Prada PR09MS in yellow GKD-3M1(61□14)...;)
20220913_190441.jpg

I can't find a "full on" front view image of the yellow GKD-3M1, but these red pair will do for the shape comparison...

My Rayban 3025 90644A arrived.

That was quite a relief as they becoming discontinued and more difficult to find in stock. Although as we know they're not the actual frame from IM3 they're a pretty close representation, the lens colour is really close too.

The actual quality of the Rayban is not so amazing, I would say my Police S8299M "feel" better in hand but I am happy with them, they do look great on and the evolve lenses are nice.
Is this from Ironman 3? I thought they were Ray Ban 3029 Outddorsman?

My latest findings on these frames...
20220913_162727.jpg

I mentioned on p.290 & p.291 that I wasn't 100% sure on my guesswork of possibly being 817 Blanc LNT's...

20220915_101130.jpg

The small 49mm lens width had me bugged, which is why I couldn't be 100% sure.

The screenshot I managed to capture from the video post moving image wasn't that excellent.

Inadvertently, I came across a slightly better internet image (captured just a frame or two past my captured image) that shows the side arm details just that bit clearer.
Time for some hardcore reinvestigating...Lol o_O

20220915_101743.jpg

After doing more searching around for more alternative close matches, I've found one solitary picture (literally the only picture out there) of the specific color of the frames that I think match.

I think they are actually Hugo Boss BOSS 1058/S in color PJP/08 blue (50□22 145)...

20220913_154529.jpg

In particular, the arm details better match the new image, from the rectangle chrome temple detail to the shape and coloration of the metal that's visible inside of the transparent arm...

20220913_154610.jpg 20220913_162700.jpg

Still on the small side at 50mm, but with that 22mm bridge.

Hugo Boss is etched on the top of the right lens on this model and is kinda almost there to see..??

20220913_175624.jpg

I can't find a front view image anywhere of the blue 1058/S PJP08, but here's another color instead for reference...

20220913_175812.jpg

BTW, after reinvestigating the frames I thought I might as well ID the pair SDJ is sporting. A nice pair of Balenciaga Bb0049s 006 (55□20 145)...;)

View attachment 1616913I think an accurate outdoorsman needs the oldest model like this.

I think you're totally right Sake(y), the smaller gap between the nose bridge and top bar match up much better. It has to be the much older "first release" version like you say.

Also that 58mm size always looked right to me, as the 62mm IMO would look rather large on RDJ. There's no getting away from it that the 62mm are a big pair of aviators, which was my initial reaction when my 62mm RB3029 first arrived ages ago.

This is why I later decided that for my IM3 frames, I would make a hybrid pair. It was Zeingal who originally suggested this back in 2019 and it was a great idea. Where is Zeingal BTW??

I used the frame front of the 58mm RB3030 (+ clipped off the sweat bar) and removed the stock 3030 cable temples...
20220915_180449.jpg

...And replaced them with the straight temple arms from the 62mm RB3029...

20220915_180351.jpg

...Creating a custom 58mm Outdoorsman hybrid frame...

20220915_175618.jpg 20220915_175608.jpg 20220915_175555.jpg 20220915_175524.jpg 20220915_175711.jpg 20220915_180036.jpg
I also put in custom lenses as I always considered that some of the Outdoorsman lenses out there were too light yellow IMO.

I think I'm going to consider detaching the nose bridge and siting it a few mm higher up like yourself!! -Great idea!!
This may actually be easier and a lot cheaper than sourcing "first release" vintage Outdoorsman, which probably go for one hefty price tag!! o_O

It does still point however towards the IM3 screen used versions having a high probability of being hybrids though, as if they are the "first release" Outdoorsman in 58mm, the screen used frames have straight temples with black end tips.

You can just see the temple tips for a micro second as he whips them off...
20220915_190112.jpg 20220915_190142.jpg

Maybe a good logical explanation would be that the production crew or wardrobe dept. swapped the cable temples on the 58mm Outdoorsman frame for straight "standard" temples, purely for the purpose and "cool factor" of whipping them off at speed for the scene, something that would be really difficult and awkward with cable temples.
Maybe the scene was tried once with cable temples and after a near ear loss incident (Lol) a quick modification had to be quickly made to the frame.

The solution to this ongoing riddle may just be as simple as that!!
Maybe, just maybe!!...;)

I agree. I think there is some more hidden story. There is a vintage Levi's jeans with the buckle back cut off, such an episode, IM3 Ray-Ban is still mysterious.
I think it was in Harley's barn.

I don't think it's an M... Could it be something like the Emporio Armani wing logo?

So I took another stab at this... noticed the zipper pulls on the jacket have the same logo and a larger one on the sleeve. Blurry due to video but I think it's a butterfly in that circle! Couldn’t find it out yet but it's a clue!

That's the only image I could find as well!

Still haven't got the model name/number yet, but found more images with evidence of 3 more lens color versions for this black frame.

The images are models wearing them at the new Matchless Star Wars collection launch at Sexy Fish in London 4th November 2015...

Light green and gradient purple/grey...

And it looks like it could be the ones we're looking for, worn by the model in the middle...

Awesome find!!

Yep, that definitely looks like it!!

Can't find them anywhere else at the moment o_O
I really hope these weren't just handed out as promo eyewear from that launch back in 2015.
Same here!

I've asked the question on their website. As soon as they reply I'll let you know.

It's not looking promising though

Still no name for these yet, but found 2 more images :D

Looks like they are/were made as a collaboration frame with LGR "Urban Eyewear by LGR"...

L.G.R are an italian eyewear brand, their website is lgrworld.com

BTW, the Matchless frames are so similar (apart from the temple arms) to the BlackFlys Fly Player limited edition...
20220916_083654.jpg

I love how the raised lens orbitals on the frame are reminiscent of vintage motorcycle goggles...

Wow, just found them!! :D

The frame themselves are L.G.R Comoros black 01 ;)(y)
They are a steel frame and 57□17 140.

Definitely a collab frame then with L.G.R and Matchless. Matchless just added their "wings M logo"....

Unbelievably they are the same L.G.R frames worn by Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, but he wore the silver frame version...Who knew!!?!...o_O
