Cad Bane

I didn't want to hijack, or glom onto the other Cad Bane thread.

These are NOT mine. But a good friend of mine in the Garrison is working on putting together Cad Bane, and he is TALENTED. Here is the work he's done to date:

From what he tells me, its a latex mask that he's working on being able to open and close the mouth, as well as show some expression. So far, it is just amazing. He's already complaining that the gauntlets are giving him nightmares.

That one's nice!!

I'm also trying to let je mouth open and close. A bit difficult, but my try-out is working. Now the only thing I need to do is make a latex mask that I can pull over the vacuumformed mask.

Good luck!! This is looking very promising and I hope we can help eachother with some things.

AMAZING!!! that mask looks spot on at least form what I remember him to look like. Congrats and will be following for progress.
Cheers!

The collar-like thing that goes up to Cad Bane's cheeks where the breathing tubes connect seems to completely cover the back of his head, under his chin, and even all around his neck. This could be a fortunate thing for the costume. The collar and the hat together can cover the wearer's ears and hair, and also conceal the edges around the mask.

It's funny you talk about the collar.

I think it's very usefull when attaching the mask....there are even some buttons above the breathing tubes. They could be very handy.....

I hope I will ever make such a nice mask!! I wish I had some more experience...:lol

So what approach are you (both of you) taking with the rest of the costume? Do you want it to look like the CGI (example: the Jedi general costumes made by a few members here with pouches and buckles that look like the CGI shapes) or do you want it to look like it belongs in the live action universe?

I would think making Cadd Bane lifelike would be excellent. You could base his look and personality a little of Clint Eastwood's The Man With No Name character! Seems like a good fit!

Although Lee Van Cleef is starting to look much better!

He's going to be forming the rest of the mask pieces, the side plates and the hoses as well. I think he's going to try for a realistic interpretation of the costume. He says he's a big fan of spaghetti westerns.

And I have nothing to do with the outfit. I'm just passing on the information. He also currently has his first pull from the mold on ebay. His master was destroyed on making the mold so he'll have to make another at some point.

Sorry SHalamar, I knew it wasn't your work but rather your friend's, yet my brain mistakenly made the association.

I'm mostly trying to make my Bane costume a bit ''cantina like'' like you've seen with the duros'. That means no lashes and a more innocent look.
I'm trying to make the gauntlets more like the ones worn by Boba and the hat will be made from the ''Indiana Jones'' fabric.

I'm gonna use rubber breathing tubes, used with the Mark IV gas mask from WWII.

For the rest I will look what can be done. I'm glad with results, but it doesn't really care if he looks like the CGI or reality duros.

Off hand do you know if he is going to make those additional cheek pieces seperate of is he going to include them in the new sculpt?
Cheers!

Very nice. Whoever wears this costume would have to be rail thin though. It would be sad to see a big, thick Cad Bane!
