C96 Mauser Red 9 MGC Or...?

I picked this up the other day at a local antique mall. No boxes or anything. Does anyone know what replica brand this is? Obviously it's not a Denix. The Red 9 branding has me a bit confused, as well as how clear the German writing is on top of the barrel. I was under the impression the MGC replicas didn't have the Red 9 grips...

MGC released a couple different versions of the C96. One difference was the traditional C96 vs the Bolo version. Another was a difference in materials (zinc vs. plastic). Even a Red 9 version with both the short barrel and the longer barrel like yours has.

All that to say, I can't verify that your is an MGC, but if I had to make a wager, I'd say it is MGC.

edit: Looks like Matt and Markus already confirmed it while I was yapping away on the keyboard.

Thanks everyone for the confirmation! Figures I would find this gem a couple months after buying a Denix...

I can think of four (maybe even 5) worthy uses for any C96, but for an MGC C96, I'd definitely narrow that down to just two.

That's one hell of a price/score, by the way.

Well I suppose I should start another build thread... I was about to start modding my Denix for Han's ANH DL-44. At least this way I have the MGC for reference dimensions.

All my antique malls have are pewter serving platters and milk glass carafes : /

Extremely awesome score!

Yeah, was the first time going there. And honestly everything was overpriced and mostly junk. This Mauser happened to be the only thing of interest for people like us.
