Love this project so much. Take you're time and do it right, don't worry about how long it takes. Great work!!
^^what he said mate...what he saidHard to come up with superlatives that haven't already been used....
Brilliant update. Can't wait for the next one.
While the build is awesome... in every way and impressive. The little details demonstrate your commitment to present so much more for the fan to see beyond the base presentation. Simply in awe.One of the things I learned whilst building the Iron Man suit, was not only the extra attention to detail, but the LAYERING of details. Covering up the top details of the landing gear with bay doors adds that extra dimension, when someone stoops low to inspect what is obscured by the doors, thus seeing all the cool stuff underneath.
I also added top nacelle engine details using an old bucket, scrap sheetmetal welded together and some copper pipe.

As usual, the full story is logged on my website, www.buildsbybaz.com . My main mission is go encourage others to have a go at big projects, or even little ones, as a way to focus energy, motivate and give one a reason to get out of bed in the morning, or to look forward to going home after work, etc.
Baz.
Mate, that is very thoughtful and encouraging! Thank you. While the build is awesome... in every way and impressive. The little details demonstrate your commitment to present so much more for the fan to see beyond the base presentation. Simply in awe.
The back end of the rail has a ramp, so that once on rollers the first push forward will lift the back end of the canopy. The front end roller will be set for 1/4 inch clearance. When it drops back it will squash a bulb seal under the canopy edge.Great update mateCockpit looks mighty good! Are you going to lift the canopy while sliding it forward. You could add an additional thickness to your rail. Canopy going forward and mounting that additional thickness, thus lifting it upward and clearing the entire front/flat part while sliding forward...if you know what I mean.
I think that'll work mateThe back end of the rail has a ramp, so that once on rollers the first push forward will lift the back end of the canopy. The front end roller will be set for 1/4 inch clearance. When it drops back it will squash a bulb seal under the canopy edge.
