Mammoth week. I think I'll take a break now.

Building a Starfighter in the backyard is something I'm sure many of us day-dreamed about when we were kids. The fact that you are actually doing it is as awesome as it is crazy. I can't wait to see how this turns out.

Still looking GREAT! Love the landing Gear.(y)
Have you considered finding somewhere in your home town to permanently display it?

Thanks everyone. Nick K, I haven't the slightest idea who might want to do that, but when the time comes I will consider suggestions.

Baz.

UPDATE:

My thanks to the tireless efforts of a Facebook friend named Mat and his friend Daniel. Mat has been looking out for a harness for the Viper pilot's seat. Arrived home today to find two harnesses waiting for me! Thanks gents!!

Weight reduction on 40x turkey feathers begins. That's 200 holes to drill.

^^^ I wish.

Update:

Over the last couple of days I've managed to steal a little time here and there.

A little chisel and paint work done on the guns. Looking badass.

Starting to detail the engines now. I found out that the prop in the side is the air regulator/water trap off a compressor. Now I just have to find a couple of non-functioning units to install to look the part. I couldn't believe Bunnings didn't sell the coils of small diameter copper pipe for plumbing. The smallest they have is 1/2 inch.

Managed to pre-fit the second engine exhaust module, but now I'm running out of room behind the ship, so demolitions today, once again.

Yep, I had one time when I needed metric size large washers, and had to get them off the internet and paid like $1 a piece for them.

Hearin' ya mate... :p

I love how committed to this you are!

Demolition of your home to accommodate this.. The wife must really love you!

She's getting two new rooms in this area once the Viper is out, so she's with me on this one. :D

Demolitions complete, (of one wall at least). Area all cleaned up and rubble removed. I have a lot more room to continue the build now. Smoothing and detailing along with the engine exhausts to finish and clad the legs in steel housing.

A mate dropped off an air filter/water trap/ It's not exactly the same as the screen-used prop, but it's pretty close.

You never cease to amaze me every time I check back on your build Baz...I'm still as bloody amazed as I was the first time I saw your early pics.
I love the 'room trade off' too... I just made a similar agreement with my lady too... she gets carte blanche on the kitchen if I get to build my armory.

Keep rocking on mate :)
