I know this isn't the picture association thread, but I couldn't help myself.

Easy does it! Slow, and gentle is the best way to approach this,if you're going to use spray paint cans! This way,it should be a breeze! I'd hold the cans two to three feet away! More like Three feet away for the right stippling pattern. This way, there'll be no huge spots to detract from the desired effect!

I'm not even really a Star Wars fan, but I've been watching this thread from the beginning. Great work! It is really fun to see this progress. Keep going, you're almost there! :thumbsup

To be honest PH I think it looks like crap, color is all wrong, trench is too big and deep, where's all the uber detail? I thought you were going for a SS look? Nope, all wrong, just pack up that piece of crap and I'll dispose of it for you.

Maybe I'll just store it in some "Ma & Pa's U-Store-It" facility up in Van Nuys until someone comes along and takes interest! ;)

Seriously though, that is looking fantastic. You have got to be one proud papa over that. I bet there's also a little relief now that there is a coat of paint on her huh?:cool

Here's a pic for you Rob! I hope that you like it! Here you can clearly see the line above the equator that you were talking about earlier in this thread.

Spotted Fever.

I've opted to fill the screw holes and sand to a smooth, matching contour, as opposed to the caps they used on the original.

Yes someone shared that shot earlier in the thread. At least to me, its too poor of a resolution/size to really tell what's going on.

The trench - where it is clear - has a lot of physical and visual elements going on that are visually deceiving. The trench itself and how it appears when clear, the band of clear acrylic that forms the back wall of the trench and extends about an inch above and below it, even the internal armature plays with your eyes.

What I really DO wonder about is that black strip in the photo that runs laterally from the edge of the duct tape (DUCT tape!?) to the edge of the paint. I'd really like to know what that is. It does not appear on the model today.
