Funny, I was just thinking today about this build and was going to post for an update. Thanks Rob; she is looking grand!!!

DAMN! Wow! Cool! Neat! And I feel your pain! ;)

Steve

Totally, huh!? ;)

Between coaching both kids in soccer, and home improvement projects, its been on and off...

These shots were my first experiment with a tripod-mounted DSLR. I did not manually set the aperture and shutter speed, but used a setting that automatically adjusts these parameters for the light at hand (without using the flash, of course).

Its a less interesting area of the model. I am not clearly on the upper dome, but starting on the outside, working in.

Other than lights, my two major hurdles are:
--Trench lights (don't know how to "drill" rectangle holes)
--Flattening out (sanding down) the dish detail pieces

For what its worth, the trench lights you see in these images were done by Brad. I won't say he spect ALL day doing what you see here, but they took a REALLY long time due to his careful etching away of the paint.

So, looking for a faster method.

Thinking about creating a template - a strip of styrene the same width as the trench, with the rectangles cut out of the styrene.
