Building the 4' Star Destroyer

Re: Building the ANH Star Destroyer

Thanks my friend Dave,

Yesterday, I attached some parts around the superstructure and the upper hull.
Although that parts were not newly IDed, attaching it after fixing the superstructure on the upper hull was help to decide accurate location.

thanks Eric.

Very sweet work Eric!!!!! :)

Re: Building the ANH Star Destroyer

Absolutely superb. I love the fact you re-created the studio model even down to the way it's mounted.

Eric, if ILM ever drops and breaks their SD, they certainly know who to call!!! :)

Re: Building the ANH Star Destroyer

That's amazing! I want one but do not have the skills, time or space, well done!

Re: Building the ANH Star Destroyer

Again, great stuff! :) How did you arrive at the overall length?

Re: Building the ANH Star Destroyer

Thanks my friends~

Lately, I'm working on the underside of Devastator and I will post the latest progress in the mid of this week.
Most of details were complete and just need to add the styrene chips & scribing the panel lines.

It will be also pain...:cry

thanks Eric.

Wow, that is incredible!!!!!

Fantastic work!

Dave,

Probably~
However, I don't even imagine the situation because my SD needs continuously the comparable original.

Hi vader71,

Actually, I also had the same thinking 5 years ago.
If you have the courage to make SD, probably, you can meet many friend who will support you.

Stonky,

As you know, I tried to build the 1st SD 5 years ago and used IDed donor kits by 90%.
Although the initial dimension was based on the mock-up, I could get the exact size through the 1st building using the donot kits.

Also, my experience result was demonstrated by Rick.

thanks Eric.

Re: Building the ANH Star Destroyer

The underside of Devastator has more complicate pattern compared to the upper hull.

I've got some idea to make the pattern easily.
Firstly, I scanned the underside image from chronicle book and the image was enlarged by the full size.(4ft)
And then, I described the pattern on the clear styrene as the 1st image.
I could get easily it through this working and more accurated result.

thanks Eric.
