Building my own Macrobinoculars

Re: Luke Macrobinocluars help wanted

Sorry to derail here but does anyone know if the Eumig 16mm Unilectric would also work for Macros, or are there differences between them and the Servomatic? I'm looking at photos of both and they look almost identical...

Anyway, those Macros are looking GREAT man! :)

No, they're pretty different. The whole front lens area is different and the Unilectric has a rolling door instead of hinged.

Hmm, this is what I'm lookin' at.

Still different, but with hinged door?

Re: Luke Macrobinocluars help wanted

THAT is the Eumig Servomatic.

Below are the Eumig Electric and Electric R(with lightmeter)

That looks the same. It could be a foreign Eumig. They might call the Servomatic a Unilectric in some countries. Austria keeps coming up in Google searches for it. The photos I was finding in searches showing Eumigs like Almar posted.

Re: Luke Macrobinocluars help wanted

Hi mate I have had a lot of people asking for a lens plate , I would be able to offer a small run in a few weeks if people are interested?

Re: Luke Macrobinocluars help wanted

Well I'm in for sure of course. Perhaps even for two depending on price. Thinking of making a second macro.

Re: Luke Macrobinocluars help wanted

Well, just bought myself a Kalimar 660 WITH Kaligar 80mm lens. Now I only need another lens. I'm thinking of casting these using the original lens. Any ideas how to do that?
I'm also thinking of starting a tutorial thread for the Macros. With the remaining Kalimar parts I wanna build up another Macro. But not as weathered as mine though. This one must look like it just came of the shelves of Tosche Station :). When it's finished I'll probably put it up for sale.

Re: Luke Macrobinocluars help wanted

Ok cool I am just finishing off some thing and will get a list up!!

Re: Luke Macrobinocluars help wanted

I want to tackle this project. My first question is, do you have any pictures of the other cameras needed? Such as Seagull 4 camera. I have seen a 4-A, 4-B, Chineese model, etc. There are some Bell & Howell 220
on ebay but are any the right ones?

Thanks

Re: Luke Macrobinocluars help wanted

About the B&H camera, you're right, there are plenty of 220 models on Ebay. Search under 'two twenty' and not 220. Just make sure you buy the one with the silver/red sundial (see pic). Some models have a totaly red dial.

With the Seagull you must make sure that the camera has a silver focussing knob. I know there are different types out there. In the picture above you can also see the focussing knob. It's the large silver knob with black stripes on it. The B&H knob is inside the Seagull.
But then again, a Seagull camera is very hard to find these days.

Thanks. I have a B&H on the way and may have a Eumig soon.
