Building a studio scale pod car

I would love to come to Manchester and learn to paint!!
I am not genius though I saw a build on the RI and I can't remember his
name I copied him!!:lol Was it Tippet, not sure but to the guy who built and lit the pod-car...thanks for showing the way!!:lol

I take it back then :lol, the prize goes to Tippet

I painted the bands that go around the canopy landing, Ahhhhhh I might add
a black wash to darken it a bit? Not sure I will leave it until I work out the refer orange base coat. When I can see the contrast I will decide what to do
but for now this is where it is.

Looking forward to seeing the finished model, pilots and all.

Hey Michael,

I think they are way too light and the hue is not right... Im sure you will fix that and go with a killer paintjob !

This is my favourite thread for years - amazing work and has made me realise what a beautiful design the pod car was. Incredible work again!

YA I see what you guys are saying about the brown color
needing to be darker. I just kind of like the color I have on it:lol
I still might darken it a bit!:lol

Man this looks so good!!! take a few extra minutes and Darken it to match the studio model, if you will add the slightly darker nose section panels and around the hulls the contrast between the two will look much better, hey that's just me. I will post photos of mine when finished, I really want to nail the color of this one as I really love this ship and did lots of research already.

You guys got me wrong:lol This is just the base color I haven't started
any of the paneling work yet on the hulls.

Are you building your model at the moment? Man if you have any real good
photos of the panels you can share that would be great!!

I have not posted in this thread, but have been following it from the start. I just have to say you have done such a good job, I can not even put it into words. :thumbsup

It's thread like this that keep me coming back to the RPF
