This has been a prop I've wanted for a number of years and finally decided to quit looking and just build it. So I got a lot reference photos from buddahaid, and began my adventure.
Here is a photo of the original prop
I began by finding a vintage Super Soaker watergun bottle, and PVC tubes, machining holes for the tubes and ribs. I used a glue gun around the tubes/bracket to simulate stick welds
Next I made the buttstock, buttpad, and started on the grip, adding ribs from styrene to a wood frame
Everything primed, and more accurate/thicker buttpad
Next I made the housing for the barrels. This is made from sheet metal, and thick clear acrylic
Now everything starts to come together with the addition of the grip. There was a lot of work here, making it the same on both sides, screws, bondo, and styene
Then I added some details to match the original. Here is a how it looked prior to it's first coat of red primer. You'll also notice the simulated welding with hot glue on the clear part.
Close-up shot
And the final shots of it in red primer. I'm stuck until I get a few more detail pieces. Then the fun part begins, making it look dirty and worn!
