BTTF Remote Control

Indeed, some parts can be found, but some have to be custom made. Also, I have no clue how to make the electrical parts work. I can solder some wires to some switches and battery connectors, but without a detailed schema or explenation, nothing is gonna work, i'm afraid.

So I'd also just love a kit with all the necessary parts (without the Futaba transmitter and batteries, off course)... Coulombe's version is nice, but what bothers me most on his version is:
1. The digits on top are not spot on. In close-ups of the bluray it's very clear that each of the three numbers has its own housing
2. The batteries at the back are not correct: there should be 2 9V batteries and on coulombe's version there is 1 9V and 2 AA batteries. I assume this is necessary for his version (with sound) to make everything working... But I prefere sceen accuracy over sound (so 2 9V batteris and no sound electronics).
3. The STOP letters on the button are not close enough to each other.
4. The box at the back of the remote is not the correct one, but in this thread he mentioned that it's not a problem to have the correct box if you want, so that's not really an issue.

I have some pretty good bluray screen caps of the remote. I'll post some this weekend in camparison with coulomb's remote so it's clear what I'm talking about.

Coulomb, you're a member here too. Maybe you can make some minor tweaks to your version (don't know if it's possible) so it's more screen accurate? Don't get me wrong, It's a very nice replica at this moment, but just those "little" extra's would convince me to buy it. Now I don't know yet...

In any case: one day I MUST have a BTTF remote in my collection. That's for sure... ;)

I'd be happy to make any changes to my remotes that a buyers wants and needs. They just need to give me their details and I'll do what I can within cost effectiveness reason.

I'm going to be contacting Gary Weaver soon and see if I can work something out as to getting a set of his displays so I can offer them on mine. Gary is the only person I know of that has the real Stanley display to cast from.

Someone mentioned that I don't use 2 9V battery clips. I do and I don't. I use a 3v AA clip for my sound board but, when someone has asked for two 9V clips, I will install them and modify my sound board to accept 9vdc.

As I stated in an earlier post. My goal was to empty my huge stock of pieces I brought back in 2005 , before we (I) knew the more screen accurate details. I have only a few pieces left so, I'll do what I can to work with Gary if he is willing.

I have asked a certain person for a set of these displays for myself and I was never helped. I am sure it has to do with the worry of them being recasted but I assured the owner that would not be the case, oh well. I would love a set of stanley displays or a "kit" to finish my remote as the one I made many years ago was sold during tougher times. If anyone has some real or casted please let me know. I also wouldn't mind a PCM green decal and other hard to find tid-bits.

Hey Coulombe, this all sounds very good! I'm out of funds for september, but after that, i'd sure be interested in one of your remotes. If you manage to work something out with Gary about the displays and maybe the green waterslide stickers to put on the red letters of the more easy to find futaba remotes, I'd just love to get one of these.

Pretty much what's been discussed this whole thread which is how to wire and come across all the right parts for the remote and having someone maybe put together a kit.Maybe a nice tutorial on how to get this thing working that's all
What do you mean by "come up with a solution"? What are you asking for?

Unfortunately Mike. This is a prop that people in "the know" don't like to help out with. The problem being is that the major expense is trying to find the correct remote. Therefore if you have the remote then these people that CAN help out, dont because they can't make money. It's sad really. I have asked for help several times and NOTHING. You can see. The BTTF community is plauged with such lowlifes it's pathetic. There are only a handful of quality BTTF'rs out there.

Yeah, I'm also trying to find the correct remote with the green letters. But this seems impossible. I think I'll settle with the remote with the red letters (it's also quite difficult to find), but transforming it into the actual BTTF remote is out of my range. I hope Coulombe would be willing to transfrom my remote into a BTTF remote, once I find one. I can print green letters on some transparant sheet en put this over the red letters to get this right.

It just amazes me the level of douch that goes on when it comes to bttf. Were all such huge fans of the film and people like to act so greedy.I can understand if someone is selling there services and want to keep things hush but after a while why not share your techniques?.Bruce made me a flux and I love it to pieces.I think I might just try to contact bruce and see if he can take care of the electrical work for me as I can't keep staring at this remote it's killing me and honestly a thorn on my side.I invested alot into the accurate remote and want to have something to show for it.My wife was telling me what is that remote and I said well from bttf and she was like oh BUT if it had all the awesome wires and lcd displays she would of said "Is that Doc browns remote to drive the delorean" :darnkids:darnkids.

So frustrated right now

There seems to be a lot of information in this thread from the other guy's build. What information are you looking for?

Are you looking for information on how to build a circuit to make it function? What sort of functionality do you want? I know how to design circuits, so maybe I can point you in the right direction.
