Limited Run BTTF Marty's Denim Jacket & Vest by Magnoli Clothiers (WHITE LABEL UPDATE)

The washing process is looking good, so we've just sent 80 yards of fabric to them to do all at once. Once we get that back, we'll get a final prototype worked up. Lining is being printed now as well!
Nice! I’m really excited for this. Will it be limited quantities? I’d order one as soon as it’s available, but just curious.

Lining printing is done...

The colors look really good. I’d like to see closer images to see how the main blue/grey looks. As we know it’s a very unique color. A dark indigo dye that has been mostly washed away making it appear greyish from a distance.

Getting closer... still a bunch of tweaks needed though:

Nice to finally see some photos! As others have stated getting the colour right is very important in making it look right, but the actual look and weight of the denim is also very important. Guess jacket's of the time had a distinctive honey comb denim pattern close up, as well as a vertical drop pattern on the denim when looking at a distance. Headgoonie got the denim look and pattern spot on, but was a bit inaccurate on the colouring.

Here's some photos of my early 80s Guess jacket which is very similar to Marty's retail jacket. Same colour, denim, lining, pockets, etc. Here you can see the denim pattern and colour I'm talking about. This is the exact same colour and material as Marty's.

I also added in a behind the scenes photo from BTTF which highlights the vertical pattern on the grey part of Marty's jacket.

Crap. So just a mirror (pocket pattern wise, not print design) of the other side?
The pocket, since it doesn’t have to hold the Aiwa is assumed to be smaller.

But obviously reference is limited.

I’m sure on the real deal, the interior celebrity lining is from a different section of the print. But just doing the exact same section of the print on that side too would be the best bet in my mind.

Paisley’s looking good though!

Pics showing the left side and the paisley interior detail. Based on these most people assume it’s a small paisley pocket but could just be slightly different linings in each of the production jackets.

Such a missed opportunity by Guess not to at least make a new run of these after the huge success of the series even back in the 80s and 90s. Let alone its popularity for the decades after, especially after the 30th anniversary. Would have made finding this model much easier. They would have had to make it in adult sizes though as this style was only made for kids and presumably MJF had the biggest size they made.

MJF wore a size 16 (you can tell by the snap placement). The largest I’ve seen is a 20. The latter isn’t much larger than the 16 though. The 16, 18, and 20 could all reasonably be called an adult XS.
