How do you mean? Because it's an ice planet?
Djerba is in Tunisia and is historically related to Mos Eisley from Star Wars...
Didn't anyone else catch this?
could be but I think that might be stretching it a bit... snow planet... desert planet... one filmed in tunisia somewhere kinda sorta near Djerba... the other is a digital snow planet they called Djerba... meh. If they called it Hoth or Mos Djerba then maybe... but way too esoteric to be an actual nod to star wars... better easter eggs in the show than that one! :lol
I wonder if there would be any inerest for the colonial sidearm I made for the show? :rolleyes
Definitely going to look into it. Thanks guys.
As for these little episodes.... like I said before.... I'm liking the way they did it. From reading posts here, it's definitely stirring up the suspense a tad. I do wish they would have went a little more on that typical BSG "dead space" muffled sound when they would pan out when showing space craft flying around. Doing so just adds to that whole emptiness of space. I'm not feeling it as much as I did with BSG. Anyone noticing that as well?
I guess you'd know...:lol
actually if you follow the official facebook page for Blood & Chrome they said that Djerba wasn't a deliberate reference for SW or Mos Eisley.
One of the more subtle references in the episode though is for Star Trek DS9. In BSG: B&C Kirby's son is named Anslem. the script writer for BSG: B&C also wrote the DS9 episode 'The Visitor", where "Anslem" is the title of Jake Sisko's first novel.
Loving the latest installment.
The Osiris is an awfully pretty looking ship aswell! That's three things I'm eyeing from the show. The pistol and classified orders being the other two.![]()
