No, it's Periwinkletastic.

Wow that's an awful word. I'm sorry. The model is great.

Re: BSG Agro Ship / Botanical Cruiser

Thanks guys.

There are ten of these bulky protrusions down the side-center line seen here on the studio model.
In the Galactica universe, Im thinking these would act as fenders during docking maneuvers.

All ten will consist of close to 500 pieces.

Re: BSG Agro Ship / Botanical Cruiser

Along with the docking fenders, in between them there are four expandable docking ports. The designer of the CG model told me that the studio wanted these ports to have some extra attention, so they are quite detailed.

To make the six paddles that surround the port, I lasered them on a higher power setting. This slightly melted the edges creating the raised rim I needed.

The few remaining details and final painting of the ports will be done after the hulls final painting is completed.

Superb work! How are you going to ship this thing? I would be biting nails off to the bone waiting to see what damage the courier did.

Re: BSG Agro Ship / Botanical Cruiser

This model is amazing. You're adding details I never noticed until your build, including the latest 'ports'. It's like seeing the ship for the first time.

Re: BSG Agro Ship / Botanical Cruiser

This blows me away. I love it when the bar gets raised. i totally missed this thread somehow. That would have been an Epic Fail.

Oh nooooo postal shippers for this model, or for that matter, any large piece I make. Door to door dedicated ground shipper or personal delivery only.

This ship has a surprising amount of detail. It was clearly intended to be more than a background, fleet filler boat.

Keep watching. There's much more to come!

Thanks guys,

Jim,
STUNNING, absolutely STUNNING!!! I don't know how you can let this baby go when you are done!!! Such an amazing job, I'd be crying for a week after letting something like this go!

Truly a SPECTACULAR build, you always keep raising the bar on scratchbuilding!!

Keep up the great work (and updates!) (y)thumbsup(y)thumbsup(y)thumbsup(y)thumbsup(y)thumbsup

Next time I'm down visiting my grandparents in Jupiter, do you think I could come down and see this thing in person? Before, it was just impressive and worth wishing about.... now, with the latest tiny details, I'd do nearly anything to see it in person. Heck, it's the SS Death Star of the east coast, I think!

After a long build, I'm sort of glad to put some distance between me and a model. I do start to miss them later on though. Some day I'll get around to making some of these subjects again for me to keep.

I'm 60 miles south of Jupiter. Stop in - bring beer.

Re: BSG Agro Ship / Botanical Cruiser

These things appear all over the model in various sizes.
These are the last two I needed to make and are the largest of the lot.

Whoa Jim, you are definatly breaking all records with this.

There are really no words to describe how fantastic this looks... except maybe... I am so green with envy for whoever is going to get his hands on this, that I could just cry. :love

"Stop in, Bring beer" you say? hell, Jupiter and back again is a small price to pay to see this beauty up close and personal. Tell me if you like German beer and I am on the way. :)
