Brandon Lee, 18 years on...

It's 18 years, today, since he was killed on the set of The Crow; and it's still hard to believe, really.

My friend knew the Lee's and trained Shannon to take over the name. I believe she moved onto humanitarian related issues as film didnt pan out for her.

In a bizarre twist of events, the band that plays in the Crow is "Medicine" (the blond girl singing) whom I used to see live a lot during the 90's here in Los Angeles. They disbanded yet founding member Brad teamed up with Shannon and released an album "The Mechanical Forces of Love" back in 2003 with her on lead vocals.

One of their better tracks:
YouTube - Medicine " Never Click"

and from the album with Shannon on vocals (fan video), I dig this song:
YouTube - astral gravy

I remember thinking Brandon Lee was going to be the next big star and was rooting for him. A famous heritage, looks, and youth he had everything going his way. I saw there watching "Inside Edition" where they were reporting that an incident happened on the set and Lee was taken to the hospital. At the end of the show they reported his death. I still can't believe what we all lost out on. Years later, it felt like deja vu all over again with Ledger's death.

Both he, and his father were taken far too soon.

Cant blame the prop master as that person is not the weapons handler. On top of that, you have no idea how difficult it is to keep actors from playing with guns on set. You literally have to stand 1" off camera and be ready to pounce with some of these actors. Check into his death and how the on set manufacture of blank rounds and a non blocked barrel live fire pistol are at fault. I forget at the moment if it was a primer but an object lodged into the barrel from a prior scene, gun was not checked when it was unloaded nor when it was reloaded. On top of that, the 1st AD should check as well.

18 years has gone by fast.
That makes me feel old :(
I hoped Brandon Lee would have been as big as his farther one day on the big screen.
Still every time we think of Bruce Lee we will think of Brandon Lee so I guess we will remember him :D

Definitely makes me feel old.. The Crow was and is one of my favourite movies of all time.. Here's my tribute to him:

Such a tragedy. The man had talent and charisma to spare. I was in high school, one of those kids who wore too much black, you know? And I had kept copies of all the news articles I could find on Lee and the Crow in this binder I carried around in my backpack. Now it seems silly and teen-angsty, but that movie and his death really made a mark on me.

Inosanto or Poteet? I remember reading that Jason Scott Lee had issues with a JKD trainer until they brought on Jerry Poteet.

.....and he's not getting any better.

Sorry bad joke, but the thread title and after all it is April fools.
I agree totally with the sentiments of everyone else, but as they say Laughter is the best medicine.
