Bourne Identity Red Bag contents

Chief Bast makes an interesting point. The cufflinks may actually be something like black onyx with a silver edge, and not simply a reflection.

I made the bank compliment slip with Bourne's account number. Although we don't see Bourne writing the last few digits they are mentioned elsewhere so I was able to complete the number using recycled parts of his handwriting. Iterestingly, it looks like three separate props were used in the movie to represent the one compliment slip.

It's sized to Euro A4 210mm wide and you can print a stack of blank ones by erasing the number and fitting three to an A4 sheet.

This is awesome. The thread that keeps on giving. Nice work Kurtyboy. I'm in for a replica TAG if you get a few. I never did get the correct cufflinks.

What about the size and dimensions of the bank box. There's a user on this forum who outright refused giving me any idea of correct dimensions. This his prerogative of course (although anathema to my way of approaching this forum) as he was hoping to do a run of them. It's been years and that hasn't happened. So let's collectively figure it out.

I'd even be interested in funding a sheet metal place making a run of these if we had accurate dimensions.

I'm afraid it's not looking good regarding those $198 Tag replicas. The image on the website is a stock photo of what I'm pretty sure is a real one since I've seen the same image on other sites selling real ones.

And when I asked for photos of the actual item they just sent me some photos of real one that they found on google images.

Dodgy.

Thank you mate for this :D

Looks like great minds think alike, where did you get the logo from? Got the one I used from the back wall of the lift and above it. Printed out on some thin card.

On the cufflinks (may as well say this again) you can see they are link and tbar rather than swivel by the way they sit in the box, that is what makes them a slightly tougher find than modern cufflinks, I reckon on them being onyx. Is there a picture of bourne at any time in the movie wearing a suit?

@Kurtyboy: Many thanks for the files you shared. Cool work.

@asavage: Many thanks for starting such a great thread.

@all: thanks for sharing tons of informations and knowledge :)

*thumpsup*

Same place of course ;)

The logo on the lift is oval yet round on the compliment slips. This threw me off trying to get the size and aspect ratio of the slips right.

Sorry I missed your earlier post about the black onyx.

What kind of tape would make the bands look so much darker like that and not give a glossy finish?

It does have a slightly glossy finish it's just that the lighting didn't show up on it

you can just about see some shine on some of the stacks and you can see the difference between those with tape and without on the Reais and Yuan.

I'm sure there would be some noticeable glare in the movie especially when the stacks are moving around but I don't see any at all.

I did some tests myself with clear tape and it really only darkens it by about half a shade. Look at the £UK stack, it's almost like cyan and navy blue. Why such a huge contrast? What kind of tape is it?

The only other thing I could think is maybe it stopped photobleaching of the ink but then the stacks would have to have been stood in direct sunlight or under studio lights for a good long time. You can just about make out the tape on the Australian strap and the lack of a stripe on the Brazilian strap. It might be well rubbed in Scotch tape I really don't know at the moment.

p.s. the bank form size is roughly 1/4 a4, you can see the sheet flat on as the woman hands it to the man behind her, at that scale the logo is the same shape as the one in the lift.

Nice. I see it.

There isn't much color difference between tape and no tape in the bank scene, but in later in the hotel room it is very evident, and in the propstore briefcase it is striking. Serious photbleaching now!

Bad news on that nice Tag replica I'm afraid. They sent me some additional photos, except they just googled them. I've seen the forum they stole them off. They are of a REAL one. :facepalm

I don't think we will find exact replicas as that would broach upon counterfeit merchandise...there will always be something different about the design to enable the "replica" watch to be sold.

To put it simply this would be a counterfeit watch or at least come under copyright and patent laws as they are purportedly Tag Heuer watches with Tag badges and are obviously not made by them. It is however the one thing I'm not fussed about getting, it never went in the bag.

And isn't buying a fake watch (many of which hail from the Far East) akin to buying from a recaster? The watch collector in me has always felt uncomfortable with "replica" watches.

I think one difference is that no matter how "good" the fake watch, it's never even close to owning a genuine Rolex, Omega, etc.

I don't suppose anyone knows the correct number on the back of Bourne's French driver's license? Back cover along the top in the format:

AA nnnnn

Completely impossible to read on screen but I thought someone might know from another source (screen used perhaps?)
