Borderlands 2 Jakobs Pistol build

Well played. That is what I was hinting at with "artistic liberty". I guess it depends on the level of heart put into the piece. You can definitely tell the difference between someone that loves their work and someone who doesn't. I'll say one thing, is not in exasperated details. But there is definitely something to say for screen accuracy and purists.
Speaking of purists, let's also look at historical evidence, Boba Fette had several different sets of gauntlets, each different than the next, but all were used for specific but not necessarily connected themes...

I use Dupli-Color automotive Filler Primer in spray cans. It can be purchased from auto parts stores. I used to use Rustolium sandable primer, but then they changed the spray nozzles on all of their cans, and they always clogged up after the first use. It got old taking them back for a new can that would also clog every time. I also find that the Dupli-color sands cleaner without clogging the sandpaper.

Oh no! Sometimes progress looks like anti-progress...

Doesn't load the paper, eh? I'm have to give this Dupli-Color a try. I have used the heavy red oxide primer by Rustoleum with some success but the cure time is quite long.

Now that I am nearing the completion of the master model for the Borderlands 2 Jakobs pistol, I am looking into building a new vacuum chamber for degassing the silicone that I will be using to make the molds, so progress on the model itself may slow down a little for a while. While I already have small vacuum chamber, it's now time for me to consider a new, larger one. I will be documenting my research and construction of it here too, on a separate thread entitled "Vacuum Chamber Build". By all means, have a look.

Oh Wow!!!! Your work is still awesome since last time I looked! Who'da thunk it?

Very impressive, I'm loving watching this be made :)

HOLY MOLY! I've seen replicas crafted from wood before but nothing as detailed and well machined as your work.

How long have you been fabricating props from wood?

I’ve finished the knuckle joint, filled in the seam, and have refinished the parts. It works!

The build looks really good now the finished items start looking like what you building. Did you just use a hobby size lathe for the screws/pins?

I turned the screw heads on my Jet mini wood lathe that I have fitted with a vintage Rivett finishing lathe cross slide. I had an adapter CNC milled to fit the cross slide to the lathe.

The screw slots were cut on my Microlux mini mill.

Do you remember from the pictures way back at the beginning what this part is? It’s the base of the Jakobs pistol sight/scope.
