Bleach

Is anyone out there a fan of the anime/manga series, Bleach? I was looking online for a hollow/vizard mask that might work but i cant find a half decent one without it costing like $75. So instead I intend to make one myself and HOPEFULLY it wont be as much as the ones on ebay. if you have tips or just a fan of the series, I would love to know. Thank you!

What a coincidence, I was just at a local (Vegas) anime shop that had several Bleach items including Ichigo's Tensa Zangetsu (Bankai) sword replica and several Hollow masks (resin or porcelain I think). I'll try to swing by again and take photos. The masks run about $30 I think.

Speaking of Hollow mask repro, I did Ichigo's a while back for an art class, basically used a porcelain mask that I saw in a garage sale as a patern mold and did a paper mache around it. I further smoothed/reinforced it out using bondo and then after smooth sanding, used Krylon flat white spray paint and added the details in acrylic then resealing it again using a clear flat coat. The mask has long been donated to the school museum but I may have some photos of the build lying around.

Any pics of the anime shop yet? i can't wait to see what their mask looks like! as for the Tensa Zangetsu, i can make a carbon steel one without any problems. that seems like a good way to make a mask, especially if you're on a budget, as i am. thanks for the advise i might just use that method

Oh, bleach is my favorite anime as you can see in my avatar. There's 4 diffrent styles of Ichigo's hollow mask iirc. 3 are the same but with diffrent markings and the last being his ultimate mask with the horns.

Seems relatively easy to make especially the early one. Good looking believable teeth will be the hardest to replicate. I don't know if the mask is suppose to be shiny or dull. I guess I'd prefer glossy.

Yeah doesnt seem to be many people interested in bleach but I really want to make some hollow masks as I recently started watching that show and love it. When i get started on one ill make a new thread

Hey there, I am currently making a bleach costume for Armageddon this year and I was wondering if anyone had some tips for the costume. I am mixing it up having an ironman helmet hollowfying with the horns. I'll have the long orange hair down the back and I thought I would keep it simple with just a captain outfit.

Any thought?

I think I'll paper mâché the teeth on. Will put pics up when I have something decent.

I prefer the basic mask with 3-4 right stripes to face or the power up of 2 lines through he face than the most powerful with the horns just because its a full skull withhair out the sides like a hippy .

Theres decent ones on ebay but are cheaply made and have no thickness as in the the anime. but Thats really east to thicken up.
