blade runner blaster question

I did several searches here on the RPF about this blaster but in the end I just managed to get confused :confused There is a lot of info but figuring out which is current or not can be a problem.
So, right now, who (if anyone at all) makes the best replica of this blaster? I read in one of the threads that they had found the actual prop somewhere but I did not find any pictures anywhere. The version that I like the most so ar is this one (I think it belongs to a member here)
http://www.eagletransporter.com/blade-runner-blaster-pkd.asp

Is there any chance I can stil get one of these somewhere? Is there a better version out there? I also found one made by Off World MFG and another by Hartford. Are there others? Which is the nicest?

Hi,
That's the BR blaster made by Richard Coyle with help of Karl Tate and Phil Steinschneider. Made after studying and having in hands, a real gun from the movie.
I think Rich is doing a new limited run of only 100 of this blaster, just ask him...
Here under Racprops or on his website : racprops.com

racprops@cox.net is Mr. Coyle's e-mail address.

I just acquired one and man is it ever cool! :thumbsup

Here's some links that he provided in his last e-mail:

If you are looking for a truly authentic reproduction of the BR Blaster that is pre-built, then Richard Coyle's RACProps WorldCon (all-metal) version is the way to go.

The Off-World Version is mostly plastic and is quite nice for frequent handling and you can't beat the price for what you get (I paid $200 for mine). The original run is sold out, but they've come out with a different version (for more money) on eBay.

I also have a PKD-I '97-'07 Reissue from Rick Ross at http://www.pflagerkatsumata.com/ It is more of a work of art and is not meant to be handled often. This is sold as a kit and needs to be built-up.

After I bought my RACProps WorldCon, I sold a 2006 SidKit that I had lying around because I didn't have time to build it up and I didn't need two metal versions.

That's a very nice blaster from SidKit!

Blade Runner is a huge favourite, and like Oldzey, I've got an Off-World version. It's not entirely screen-accurate, but it's solidly built and not too expensive.

If you're looking for an accurate looking metal blaster, I'd give SidKit a look.

Thanks guys,
I think I now have all the information I will ever need on this blaster.
You guys are great!

Here's some pics depicting my two RAC blasters. This one is an all metal version, in "as issued" condition (pristine paint, etc.) which is the version prior to the "Worldcon" edition.

This one is another of Rich Coyle's all metal blasters. It is the Worldcon version.

The design differences are not great to the eye, they are subtle, but the finish is the most distinguishing feature. The Worldcon gun was apparently not maintained well so the finish got worn and the gun has an overall beat up and used appearance. There was a different bolt head on the Worldcon version which was not seen in the movie, and you can have the Worldcon replica with either (I got both when it arrived).

The Sidkit metal guns are also beautiful. Lots of choices out there.

I've got an old Off-World (not the new one with the revised paint job which can be found on ebay). It's not too accurate and feels a little bit too small, but it was cheap, really looks cool and I'm not too precious to play with (I love it).

As far as can tell Richard Coyle and Sidkit make the some of the best 'metal' accurate ones (often referred to as WorldCon).

However there are others which have there own merits.

Propsummit is the place to go for more information. I even managed to buy one (Off-World) from within the UK through the forum. There is also a comparison thread.

If you care about 'certain things' when buying, it's should be pointed out that Rich and Sidkit aren't friends. If you search on propsummit you can find plenty of stuff about that without polluting this thread.

I ordered one from Richard Coyle. I looked at just about every picture I could find here and on Propsummit.com and the one that looked the best to me was Richards. Its expensive, but from the looks of it it must be worth every dime

Which one???

Congratulations on your purchase.

I don't think he's offering it as a kit any more. The kits were in the $400 range. The build-ups twice that.
