Help - Identifying vintage Blade Runner Blaster kit

Last week I scored a garage kit PKD on ebay for about $60; today it arrived in the mail and it's only made me more curious.
It arrived in an unmarked manila box, and opening it up produced a blaster, misc. separately cast parts, and a stapled-together booklet. The "Steyr" booklet includes brief instructions and an article from an unnamed magazine comparing different blaster kits on the market at the time (love these glimpses into the past!) which does include a very brief mention of a "Steyr Blaster" available to buy from "SF Squared".

The blaster itself has a decent amount of detail, though most of its proportions are slightly incorrect, and it also seems to twist slightly as if the mold wasn't properly braced; the quirks of a 30+ yr old magazine kit :p The receiver has all the correct markings and serial number, the magazine is slightly damaged but to me it almost looks like it could say "223 Rem"? It's about 20% smaller than normal, which is apparent when I placed it alongside an Anders kit I'm building.

I consulted this video by asavage on his various PKD replicas, and the details seem to line up with a replica shown at 16:38 which he describes as if he built it; I'm hesitant to say what I have is his sculpt on account of the fact Adam says it did not sell well at all, though I would love if he were to weigh in. I'm at a loss here, this kind of information isn't the kind that gets archived on the internet, so anyone who would have been in the scene before my time would know far better than I. Any information is good information, so thank you for looking!

I built up one of those kits 25 years ago. Sadly, I have NO clue who I got it from or who might have made it, but I still have a couple circa 1999 photos of it.

Lovely build, nice to know it will shape up well!
This kit looks familiar...saw it quite a few years ago:unsure::unsure:
If you find your memory jogged at any point, then do keep in touch!

A bit of digging on propsummit showed that one of R. Coyle's many blaster iterations used a .223 magazine, if I really have been reading that correctly it could be a (re?)cast of his?

1st. That casting will be a nightmare to correct and build. I would only own such a thing as a collectible.

2nd. Most of the earliest kits were simply copied from castings of castings of the stunt model originally unearthed in the mid 80s. They are curiosities, but except for their historical novelty, they are not really significant especially if they are ripoffs of Coyle's blasters.

This one was definitely descended from one of the stunt casting copies. It has a number of familiar tells. Yes, Coyle only had the .223 clip on many early models. He also had a short charging handle and an incorrect radius on the right side cylinder plate.

Elliot Swanson (I have no idea if he is still with us) was a BR collector and fan. I had no idea that he had his own version of the casting. This is probably his edition of the blaster.

He did at one time have a casting of the "wrap gift" spinners that were distributed at the end of the original filming.
