Limited Run BLADE RUNNER 2049: Officer K (Ryan Gosling) Jacket/Coat - NOW SELLING

I opted for a high gloss green paint, instead of applying a 2nd (high gloss acrylic medium) coat. I felt it could be achieved in one step.

yeah mines down to one step too, though i added a bunch of gloss medium to my paint to add extra shine. I guess it's technically 2 since you have to buff it a bit afterwards, but still. No risky second coat.

After dying my fur, I was feeling paranoid about the dye running, even though it didn't seem to be an issue. So I put my coat through the washing machine (on a delicate cycle), followed by the dryer (on low heat). Two things happened:

1: My dye application became more patchy. I made mine weathered, so this isn't a bad thing. But if you're going for a totally clean look, this could be a problem.
2: The printing on the back turned white in places. It arrived with slightly lighter portions, and those lighter portions turned stark white.

So I'd strongly recommend hand-washing the coat. And if you dye the fur, don't use a dryer to seal it. Buy a hair dryer, and use that instead. It's a well-made, durable coat, but its design requires special care.

Is appreciate your concern, I felt the same but after a sleepless night and wanting to go a check on it through out the night. I let it be, and after 12-14 hours of drying, I took a paper towel, blotted the leftover dye (which was very little) and threw it in the dryer. The dye stayed, I’m sure you can re-apply a second time to fill in the blotchy areas. And as for the lettering, some of mine turned white as well, I hand painted over them and it seems to be fine.

If the lettering goes white, iron it through a piece of paper on high heat to melt I back in place!

Zlurpo.....What did you use? A wax based medium on the letters, because I noticed a tackiness

Excellent. Thank you! In that case, my only recommendation to future dyers would be to finish the dye process with a hair dryer. That's the one step I skipped, and I think that's why my fur bled a bit in the washing machine. Which again, isn't a problem if you're going for a screen-accurate look. So this is perfect.

Thanks again for everything, Zlurpo! These coats are so amazing.
