Limited Run BLADE RUNNER 2049: Officer K (Ryan Gosling) Jacket/Coat - NOW SELLING

Re: BLADE RUNNER 2049: Officer K (Ryan Gosling) Jacket/Coat - PICS updated Oct. 9

Sample looks great in the new shots! Can't wait to see the updated pattern.

For what it's worth, I am 100% in for green waxed cotton, and I would be happy to pay extra for it--even in advance, if necessary. Conversely, I don't think I'd be interested in the black fabric--so I hope that there's a second run, if you're not able to get the green fabric for this one!

Totally agree with this, would prefer to wait or pay extra for green than settle for black. Are you thinking of adding the text on the back or skipping that?

Yea, I think we are all on the same page here. This build is coming along so well and looks so accurate, it would be a shame if it was the wrong color.

I echo the above sentiments, a dark green would be preferable in my book too

Interested pending final price

I'm also with the above comments. Would definitely prefer dark green over black.

Good to see all the feedback. Already looking into getting the right color.

Printing however will probably not be included, UT I'm am checking on it just in case.

Awesome! the printing I'm not too worried about. Can always add that in myself if I decide later that I want it. Might be a bit less gaudy to wear around without it though.

I am definitely one for the interested list.

TBH, I'm far less interested in the printing than in the color of the jacket.
Figure I'd likely add the printing myself if I feel its necessary.

[Edit: Hah! I posted almost the exact sentiment as the person above me.]

Agreed with the above! Printing would be a nice option for those who want a perfectly screen-accurate costume--but for the moment I'm more interested in a daily-wear coat, and I think that means skipping the printing.

Would there be a way to apply the printing/lettering to waxed cotton after the fact? It's a waterproof finish so I'm guessing it might be tricky?

Good question. With the new fabric, my guy is planning to dye raw canvas and wax it, so it may be possible to leave off the wax for those who want to add their own printing.

My thoughts exactly

Shut up and take my money, im in!

I'm especially interested in a slimmer fitting version of this coat. I feel like the on screen coat
was more of a slim/modern fit through the arms especially. Most of these that I've seen so far have been pretty clunky/dated looking.

Zlurpo: I've done some sketches (based off photos) of how I see the coat coming together. Hopefully they can be of some help in refining the pattern.

I agree with this sentiment. That said, I have a suspicion that once we update the front edges to angle outward towards the bottom, making a gap for the legs--as has been mentioned a few times upthread--that will probably change the overall "vibe" of the coat substantially. Also, I suspect that adding the padded/quilted lining will fill out the profile a bit and make it appear more fitted and less baggy.

And one last suspicion: I don't know Zlurpo's production workflow, but I would bet that the sample is made to some generic "average" measurements, so perhaps when we submit our custom measurements, the coat will slim-fit accordingly.

All great points. I think the lining will make a huge difference on how it sits on the body - but I am concerned the arms don't get "thinned" down too much; they're nowhere near skin tight on the original.
