Same, also interested. By the way there’s definitely lettering on the back in the film.

Zlurpo, you seeing all the pics in the other threads? I will hit the arclight next week and get pics of my own. Sty tuned.

I wonder if that symbol on the back of his jacket is KD3:6-7

Here's a good shot of the jacket that highlights the "tuck" effect of that left-side flap.

Almost looks like there is a pocket that it slides into to hold it in place to give the more "symmetrical" look.

If you click on the image it will take you to a lot larger sized version where you can really see how it curls over backward and looks like it tucks into some kind of pocket?

Just looked through the pics of the Officer K costume thread, nothing in those pictures makes me think I have my design wrong, except that the collar should be about half an inch longer than the flap it's attached to.

I am quite sure the collar just folds down on itself. To facilitate that, I might make sure that magnet closures are put in the top corner of the collar and the spot it tends to rest against the flap below it, that way it will naturally stay folded the way it does in the movie.

I like this idea! The shots in this post seem like pretty good reference material for the portion of the collar that goes under the lapel, and how it folds up on itself.

Two notes from a "practical item of clothing" perspective:
- Strongly seconding the request for at least one interior pocket!
- At one point in the film, there's a great shot of the coat's interior, which looks like quilted black satiny material. Will your repro have a quilted lining, and if so, how warm do you think it will be? (This shot also provides a great idea of how deep the fur edging on the lapels goes before switching to the quilted lining--from memory, I'd say the fur extends maybe 6 inches in from the edge of the coat. I think the fur was an evenly-sized rectangular strip running down the full length of the coat, rather than just on the lapels/collar section.)

I've been mostly using this shot for the placement of lining and extent of the fur:

At the bottom the lining is clearly starting about 6" in, and nothing at the bottom is the color/texture of the fur. I think the fur stops at the diagonal lines across the torso.

There will be a lining, I havent decided if it will be quilted or not. I'm open to input on it.

I think part of what gives the coat its look is the “padding” that initially tricked people into thinking it was leather.

In 2049 LA there’s a lot of snow, so it’s more than just a windbreaker.

I would definitely prefer something wearable as a fall/winter coat. Quilted lining sounds pretty good to me.

I just saw the movie last night and the coat is definitely a very dark green. A character in the film even refers to Gosling as "the man in the green coat". There is also a shot in the film that clearly shows how far down and back the fur goes on the inside. It looked like it only goes about halfway down the inside of the coat and is about 4 inches wide or so.

Same on both counts! I'd be happy to pay extra for a more heavy-duty coat (as well as interior pockets).

I do like the interior pickets idea. I can live without them, but it would certainly be a nice addition.

Ok, we'll add a picket fence :lol

There's at least one interior pocket on the sample, It'll probably be two on the production coats.

Yeah, the quilting was definitely a satin black as patattack said (funny, because I specifically remember that shot too!).

The quilting will definitely "fill it out" more and make it look at lot more internally and externally accurate - and warm :)

Not sure you guys get what I mean, so I did this:

If the red line represents the top "lapel" line, you can see it extends beyond the bottom lapel and curls backward behind the bottom lapel.

Then the green line represents what looks like a "pocket" (for lack of a better word) that the top lapel folds/tucks into?

When you look at the unaltered image to the right, it may make more sense what I'm trying to articulate? Hopefully :)

I want one :0, love that coat in the movie.

Re: BLADE RUNNER 2049: Officer K (Ryan Gosling) Jacket/Coat - PICS added Oct. 4

One thing I’ll add: the coat in the movie is tailored, especially up top. It is not a straight “tube” with arms attached.

The current sample coat here looks great, but I wonder if it could do with a bit more “shaping”...
