The sample was made from a coated denim, the new cloth will be a 10oz canvas.

This is awesome news man. I reckon the canvas will hang better than the Denim too, and you’ll probably see less bunching at the elbow.

Thanks for doing this chap it’s gonna look awesome I’m sure!

If I find anymore obscure reference photos I’ll be sure to put them up.

Haven't got one yet, sadly (that's what I meant by "Coat aside...").
I've boots, pants, couple of sweaters, shoulder holster (close-ish; not super happy w/ it), and my Deckard blaster... but I am yet coatless. It's too distinct; I've yet to find anything close enough.

I dig these boots, though. I might keep dailying them even after they're broken in.

Also been thinking of bashing together an eye-scanner.

ThadExMachina, if you don't mind me asking... How do you find the FIT of those boots?
...and by that, I simply mean: If You normally wear (for instance) a Size 9 (or whatever), did you Order a Size 9? Or go up a half size or something?
(and whatever you did do, are you happy with the fit you got?)

Curious to know... and any info would be appreciated

“Everyone thinks his military coat is made of shearling, but it’s laminated cotton that we painted and then attached cheap, ugly faux fur to the collar – it was $2 a yard! Leather would have become wet and very heavy in that environment, and his character is poor, he has a miserable existence in that basic apartment. The collar - pretty cool, eh? – is so he can hide himself from the pollution. We’ve seen hoods thousands of times on-screen, so I came up with a high collar that closed magnetically. I wanted the audience to just see his eyes at the beginning of the film.”

Laminate Cotton? Interesting. So this coat might have cost roughly $50-100 in materials originally.

Pictures of the new sample. It doesn't have the lining in it yet so it will bulk up a bit more.





Here's a few magnets sitting on the cloth. My guy's camera has a tricky time getting the color just right, I think it's probably very close to this shot:
(edit: turns out this is unrelated cloth, it's just what was on the table.)

Turns out that's unrelated cloth, haha. Didn't realize that at the time. His camera is just bad at picking up colors. I think the up close shot with the open collar is the closest to showing the true color.
