Black Series X-Wing Helmet to ANH Blast Shield Helmet

Hello all,

I had a friend tell me about the Wedge X-Wing helmets on pre-order, (should be shipping in the next week or so) so I decided to pick up 2 of them. One to be displayed as-is, the other to use as a base to convert to Luke's ANH Training Blast Shield. I have already purchased a decal kit on Etsy for this project, but am curious if anyone else has done this type project? The biggest issue aside from prep and painting will be making and attaching the blast shield itself. Any creative thoughts or information from past project experience would be very helpful!

I received the Wedge helmets from Gamestop order last week. I have yet to unbox it, but have been locating and ordering the other parts. I may attempt to paint all the details as I saw one someone did and really liked it. I did get a decal set, but may use this to make stencils. I also ordered some blast sheilds from GoldenArmor to mod and add to this. I would love to be able to make this raise and lower, if anyone has any suggestion. I know the BS Wedge helmet has a fixed set of goggles on it, once they are removed and the shell is taken aprat I may see if a slide system can be made to allow this.

Am working on this now. I have a decal set from Etsy but there are better photos on RPF of the repurposed helmet for ROTJ that shows how off the decals are. The writing was more dark blue than black and more calligraphic in shape than blobby.

For my next project I'm going to attempt a replica of the blast shield x wing helmetbthat Luke wears on the Milennium Falcon . However, I expected research photos to,be a lot easier to find than they have been . There are just two main photos all over google, and the actual video clip is on...
