Ok I was thinking that you say that the real helmets had a similar finish like the Hasbro.
I also don´t like the extreme clearcoat on the Anovos.The Hasbro is too bright...but I think with a little bit weathering it can look great.

It is not really a paint...its chrome plated with a thin matt paint on it.Feels really a little bit cold.They did a very nice job.I think with a transparent dark color on the metal finish you can come very close to the screenused look.I think they did the same with the real helmets...Alumaluster and a dark transparent paint or clearcoat on it.So the metal shines through it in the right angles.

I don't know how they tackled the clear, but i know the black comes first, and they slowly added thin layers of Alumaluster, so that it had a nice dark chrome where the black under made it pop under the set lighting.
However on this, a tint spray might work on the "chrome", who knows?

I'm thinking the same thing. Looks like they vac-metalized the entire thing, which was something I was hoping they'd do but honestly thought they wouldn't bother.

Just got mine! It looks and feels really nice. Hasbro has toped their game once again.
This is by far the best ever mass market helmet ever from photos being posted. I am totally blown away, and I havent even got mine yet as I'm in the UK. The way they have nailed the finish, interior etc is absolutely stunning.
EFX, Anovos should take look at this and rightly be embarrassed. IMO the comparison photos posted make it quite obvious that the replica prop licence is in the wrong hands. People want great replica props on a budget, and Hasbro is the way. I know some want exactly as seen on screen and higher quality build, but let's be honest, it's a no brainer.

I understand what you’re saying, you don’t like the heavy gloss, but just for clarity I thought I’d note every helmet was clear coated. The only difference was between hero helmets and stunts. The stunts were cleared with imperiflex which generally has a slightly higher gloss.

Daylight and in evening:
This one seems to have a couple of tiny imperfections under the chrome finish but those are really hard to notice if you ain't staring straight at them. Mostly they are noticeable only when the light is hitting them from just the right angle:
This really is Hasbro's best helmet so far.
