Its confirmed and considering they 3d scanned this, filling in the dent and the other scrapes they added to the painted damage would be easy as they arent reworking a molded object.
Just picked mine up from local Walmart two days ago. They had 2 on the floor, sitting on a bare shelf with no advertising or signage. Not with the SW toys. I am very impressed with this bucket. The size and dimensions are very close to the real deal. The keyhole notches in the back are cut out and covered with mesh. The paint jobs fails a little if you are holding the helmet up close, but from a couple of feet away or more looks really good. It absolutely would look great in a Detolf. Some observations.
1) the helmet is idealized. The mild forehead brow warp is now straight
2) this thing is solid, no creaks or groans. Heavier than a fiberglass lid
3) the range finder assembly is the ‘toy’ part of this, and it looks it. Bulky and plasticky. The stalk is a little too thick and a little short ~1.5cm. And the ear piece coloring is off.
4) my kill stripes are crooked against the top, they slowly taper/slant downwards as they travel around the side. I fixed this with some great vinyl stripes from the RPF
5) the helmet is not actually weathered. It’s pristine plastic with weathering effects molded into it, but it’s not dirty; there is no paint splatter on the mandibles, no wash, etc.
6) the picture on the box is more detailed than the actual product
still, it just looks the part of the ESB lid when on display. I am pleased overall; it’s as good as. If not better than, the black series x-wing helmet.
Again, I doing something wrong. Everytime I list what I'm looking for, nothing shows up.
I go to brickseek and enter what I'm looking for. None of it shows up..Same with Walmart com

Hey Gang! Crazy paranoid question here for y'all today... FOR ANY WALMART INSIDERS...
Does "Out of Stock" mean that these have all been sold, or does it mean that they haven't received any yet?
Reason I ask is that during my daily inventory check just now I noticed that the store I'd gone to the other day now lists the helmet as "Preorder available" and "Only 7 left!", whereas my local Walmarts say "Out of stock".
Does that mean the local Walmarts had them available as "Preorder available" and all the preorders have been spoken for resulting in the "Out of stock" status?
Which means they won't have ANY for sale on the shelves???
And weirdly when I select "More delivery & pickup options" at the far away store, it says "This item is not available for pickup or at any of the Walmarts within 50 miles of your location. "
Because it's only available for "Preorder available"???
I'd love some insight on this if anyone is IN THE KNOW!

Yeah, I was surprised to see that after your previous post. Let's hope that's the case.
I would assume thats for any new pre-orders. Existing orders are probably still shipped out at the previous date. Personally I would take this as a good thing, demand is high for these helmets and Hasbro will keep expanding the product line.
Yeah, I'm still holding off on running out to Walmart (or anything other store) in the current state of things. As much as I've had the urge, I can't justify it for something like this.

Yeah, cleaning up the digital file is one thing, but that would mean all new tooling to create moulds without the damage and paint chips. Since the idea of repaints is to cheaply put a 'new' product on the shelf for minimal cost, I'm not seeing it. Think of the repaints they've done, for example the various BS exclusive Tks - different paint applications, or even different colour ABS, but all from exactly the same moulds, which are the expensive part of the process. Dont want to be a negative nellie, but...yeah....I'm just not seeing it.

Seems like the biggest complaint about the first few helmets we've seen are the kill stripes being painted on an angle and not level with the brow/band. Perhaps the later helmets will have this corrected.

I hope BBTS ships on release day.
I don't know about you guys and your situation but right now but I'm not being directly affected at the moment and just waiting for things to go back to normal. I've been on the hunt to my Walmart a few times hoping to find it but nothing. I can only go for so long with out looking forward something especially since another convention has just been cancelled.

But weirdly, not ALL of them. A number of the review videos and comparison photos show them applied correctly. How on earth did they get scratches and dings more or less centered properly on molded damage, yet bungle something as large as the stripes? Strange.
