Best Stormtrooper Helmet?

ACTUALLY is a really good question.. ive been searching for a while as well.. which is the "best"..
and i dont really know cos i thought the "real cast.. from the original molds " guy are ok.. but i dont want to spend a fortune in one of his helmet specially when IM NOT a trooper.. i want just the helmet to sit in my living room..
i saw one on ebay uk few months ago.. and i thought // yeah thats looks ok.. but then another member of this forum told me.." nahh the plastic is to bad .."
so.. yeah id llike to have an screen accurate stunt stormtrooper helmet from ANH ( or ESB )
( kit if is possible.)
where i can get one? one which almost the same like the original....

AP (ABS) / TE2 (styrene) / GINO (styrene?/HDPE)

That's about the ones to look for depending on what you can afford. The one requiring the less work is probably the AP, though, you have to assemble it differently to the outlined guide to make it look better and trim out the neck opening slightly more. The others needs painting of the whole kit.
 
hi gino, where is that helmet came from? did you cast it from the original?
can you give a little more info..looks ok to me
 
The only other thing I'd ask is how big your noggin is.

I've got an AP and love it, but I know it's smaller than others so if you've got a big head (or satellite dish ears ;-) ) then AP won't be any good for you.

You think the stormtrooper-costumes.com helmets look REMOTELY accurate???

They look like soft recasts poorly assembled with an incredibly shoddily painted frown. (I take that back. They don't even look accurate enough to be 6th gen recasts. They are wrong in soo many ways. They make the eFX helmet look accurate.)

Go to starwarshelmets.com Look at the originals. Then compare to Ginos. Then compare to the link you posted. Ginos are even $25 CHEAPER!!! :confused

You could get an AP kit for even less than that. And a "seconds" kit with some minor flaws for around $100. Why in the name of all that is sacred would you even consider one from stormtrooper-costumes.com :confused

I know you are new and just trying to help but you will find any trooper or Vader helmet talk will get heated quickly. Before you help a recaster advertise do a little research. Like I said I know your new. But make a mental note. There are at least 5 meltdowns a year on this forum over TK stuff! LOL!!!!

There are just soo many nice helmets out there. And yet soo many people buy in to "original molds" crap. Even when their product looks horrible.

No one has the original molds. Only molds made from original helmets.

If you want ANH/ESB helmets go for Gino's V3 (HDPE) helmets, if you want a RotJ version of the lid go for CastfromOriginal (CfO). That's, IN MY OPINION, and I repeat, IN MY OPINION, the best helmets you will ever get. At least you will never have to buy any other set.

Don't buy from ebay if you want accuracy. That rule usually works really better, at least for stormtrooper things related :thumbsup

You mean you have molds that were made from a screen used helmet right? Not that you actually have THE original molds?

Don't buy from Golden armor.

Don't buy from starwars-costumes

Study the refference on starwarshelmets.com

THEN make your decision. There are only a FEW reputable good standing makers. (non recast)

IMHO if you want the best... Most accurate...

Yes, I have the original moulds used for the production of the stormtrooper helmets back in '77. BTW, they are the Hero moulds...

about i did or i created the stormtropper blah blah blah... ( we dont need to go deep here, we know the problem )
but the final product is in "my opinion ".. on of the best helmets here in uk...

so a question for you guys :
example . I casted my buckles ( jack sparrow costume ) from the original screen used costume
if one day i decide ( i cant but is an example ) sell copy of my buckles saying : "casted from the original screen used costume ".
and then , one of the prop maker from the movie is selling the same.. From the creators of the pirates of the caribbean , jack sparrow buckle from the same mold as the original..

whos buckles is better .. .. more screen accuracy?.. mine or they buckles?
