Bespin Landing Platform for 1/144 Millennium Falcon

A little progress today, started adding a bit of detailing to the building, still need to do the end pillars, the door itself and some of the finer details:

Anyone have a clear image of the symbols above the doorway? Or know what they are?:

This is a matte painting. I don't think the part above the door was physically built.

Bit of progress with lighting the main platform, used a 4mm strip of 2835 LEDs. Looking a bit messy at the moment , a lot of sanding of the filler to be done:

Thanks for the kind comments.

Added some 1mm styrene as the outer angled trim. Had to break the circular portion down into sections of a few inches and added some millput for sanding down to a smooth surface, just got to wait on the curing time:

A lot of sanding a bit more filling and then more sanding against on the upper slopes edge, will probably need some more post priming but for now that's enough.
Also added a frame area around each of the lights. Some small areas of filling and filing around these required but I'm fairly happy how it's progressing, far from perfect but good enough for me

Richard I'm afraid I haven't built the Falcon yet (it only arrived a few days ago) but at your request I have clicked the main halves and mandibles together so you can get a rough idea of scale:

Was planning on using the falcons figures; Han, Chewie, Rae (converted to Leia) would love to find some 1/144 for C3PO as well as Lando and his party but having a tough time finding some suitable scaled figs.

I've been looking into doing a 1/144 scale diorama myself. The only figure sets I'm aware of are from Bandai: http://hlj.com/product/BAN976500
and Preiser: https://www.preiser-figuren.de/1:144-preiser-figuren-12mm,cat-402

The downside is that both sets would probably require some re-sculpting to look like the characters you're after.
