Behind the scenes with robot Sunny (Apple TV+)

I'm three episodes in and wanting to see more...

However, there is one thing that bugs me, breaking the fourth wall for me: Some of the shots of Kyoto are too much as if they were taken out of a tourist brochure.
One reoccurring shot in the show — on the road home from the grocery store, with a pagoda at night — is one of the most photographed motifs in Kyoto, maybe of Japan ... and there is not such a grocery store nearby in real life.
I also recognised right away the street where Mixxy's bar is supposed to be located.
These specific areas are also suffering from over-tourism right now, with newly enacted regulations with stiff fines so as to help protect the locals from the worst tourist behaviour, so I would find the reasoning for these shots puzzling: It can't be product placement, and if not, then why?

BTW. The headquarters of Imatech (both interior and exterior) is the real-world Kyoto International Conference Center. (That it could be repurposed into an office building in the future by an entity with enough cash is not as implausible ...)

Episode 4 starts with a motorcycle with side-car that warps from a side-street in the area I mentioned above to ... Jiyu Girl's School in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. This famous building was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

Come on!

BTW. The bath house must also have been in Tokyo, because having a picture of Mt Fuji on the wall is specific to bath houses in the Tokyo region.
