For some reason it’s a movie that I watch every other year.Sometimes a refresher is nice.I don't even remember the last time I saw the original. Probably over 20 years now. Totally need a refresher.
I have movies like that, or at least more frequent than others. Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi are probably the top two....even ifs just a few scenes here and there. For some reason it’s a movie that I watch every other year.Sometimes a refresher is nice.
There's that and the fact that Keaton is much older now and probably can't quite conjure the same energy he had when he filmed the first movie. All I was saying that we don’t know about the how and why of Beetlejuice in this film yet. Just because we’re not seeing he’s not going overboard like in the original film doesn’t mean that Keaton is being lazy in his performance, and like I mentioned, it might be possible Beetlejuice might have had some off screen character development in the time we’ve last seen him. He might still be a trickster demon, but in the time between the first and second film, doesn’t mean he might still be exactly the same and may have softened up in certain places in his personality.
I read an interview with Davis where she said it wouldn't make sense for either of the Maitlands to appear, since there was no aging in the afterlife & they were dead in the first film.I'm wondering how they are going to write out Baldwin and Davis' characters. I can understand why Alec wasn't asked back for a role in the new film, but maybe we will see Gina somewhere/somehow?
Or maybe they figured out a way to work the afterlife bureaucracy and get out of being in that house for 125 years.I'm wondering how they are going to write out Baldwin and Davis' characters. I suspect that the bureaucracy may have collapsed, or there may have been a major regiment change, which lead to changing of rules that might have included allowing Adam and Barbara to move on. But that's just me.Or maybe they figured out a way to work the afterlife bureaucracy and get out of being in that house for 125 years.
On that note: it looked like in the beginning of the first movie that given most of the cars and such, it may have been earlier than 1988 when the Maitlands died (like maybe the 50's or 60's), but I may be remembering it wrong.
Yes, she is. In fact, I noticed that when they were doing the cast announcements in the trailer (and now, we know where that finger and ring Beetlejuice broke out in the first film while trying to marry Lydia actually came from). It's always amusing to see the rampant speculation and way out ideas you all come up with! But... Didn't anyone notice Monica Belucci's character is missing her ring finger?
Edit: I just googled the cast, and apparently what that implies is no secret. Carry on.
Me too! I’m so excited! I seriously have a good feeling about itI’m surprised no one posted the new trailer here yet. Man, I have hope. I’m cautiously optimistic and will certainly see this one in the theaters.
