TMNT 1990 film playing in some theaters for the 35th Anniversary

. . . And once Shreddy gets hit, he runs out of patience and disarms them. Just like Vader did with Luke in ESB.

Shredder & Splinter felt like a bit of a Vader & Yoda ripoff in the movie. But then, Vader & Yoda were eastern-inspired figures in the first place. It's all stock mythology stuff.
Was it ever publicly state shredder was a rip off of Vader?

I always heard and read that they got shredders design from Vader, but I never actually seen or read anything of that coming from Eastman

I don't know if it was ever said out loud. That may just be speculation, but it looks obvious. And it looks obvious that Vader was influenced by eastern Asian stuff in the first place.

My favorite TMNT was the early comic. Shredder started off like a healthier non-crippled version of Vader. He was built like a martial arts fighter rather than big massive imposing figure. If anything I think Shredder's later look & mojo had more Vader influence.

But that was pretty common for the 1980s, and even now. Skeletor's early comic appearances have a strong whiff of Vader. Same with Megatron. Cobra Commander. Etc. It's generic villian stuff.

The movie version was clearly inspired by Vader, even down to the voice used. I never got that feeling from the comic and cartoon version. There he just read as a Kurosawa samurai warrier type.

Here's the fight scene video I remembered seeing on Youtube:

And this is a good channel talking a lot about the movie, as well as the deleted scenes.

I never actually seen that deleted scene stuff.
Be cool to find more stuff.
I almost loved Sherdder's theme and fighting music. I still regularly listen to all three films soundtracks.

All this Shredder talk, and one thing I've gotten so used to, hadn't thought about, but my phone background is this.
Did it all on the phone, taking a screenshot off YouTube, and then add that to the photo editor, making it darker and more stylized.
So many people ask if hes from Mortal Kombat. So after preforming a fatality on them, I then say, No.
