I hear you on that. I'm sometimes anxious when the construction is done and I'm ready to sling that first coat of primer, wondering what flaws will be revealed and if they're fixable. So far though my concern is unwarranted lol. What primer/paints do you plan to use? Are you airbrushing them?

For a few years now I’ve been using citadel in the big spray can, it’s expensive at 20 bucks a can but it’s got great spray nozzles and it comes out almost like airbrush. So all use black citadel for primer but as far as getting the silver tape finish I think I’m gonna have to do a lot of hand brush in varying silver and metallic gray and then light coat the whole thing with something

I know it looks like I’m getting close, but I’m not really. There’s still the top plating to do I have to figure out some kind of a rod and pivot for the stand, and then there’s the whole other flight pod which will take several weeks in and of itself

Yeah…the plating side to side isn’t mirror matching. Sometimes I got the patience for it, and sometimes I don’t. This is the latter

I don't think it needs to be symmetrical anyway.

There could be reasons for plating differences such was what kind of structures or access points may be needed under the plating etc...

I agree, and add to that she was 50 years old when the Cylons attacked (the show begins) which means she was in service 40 years prior during the that conflict. So that being said you got prior battle damage, refitting, all that crap, so yeah.
But what this really boils down to is I’m making excuses for being lazy LOL

I’m afraid not. This is entirely scratch built so she’s a one off

I didn’t quite get the curvature correct on the top of the right upper engine pod so I had to do some shimming underneath the armor plating so it would look as close as I could get to the same as the other one. I think it’s close enough. It’s still not quite exactly the same but I don’t think anybody’s gonna notice it

Yep been lurking along , But WOW Man you got this going on and I LOVE IT!!!!!! can't wait to see her painted up. Great job keep it going and Thanks for sharing great project.
