MDF is medium density fiberboard. Kind of a multi-purpose construction element. Compressed wood fibers I believe.
Oh yeah, that stuff. Isn’t that the material that , crap I can’t recall his name now…muza maybe. Built the 12 fr Star Destroyer in AustraliaMDF is medium density fiberboard. Kind of a multi-purpose construction element. Compressed wood fibers I believe.
It's woodWhat’s mdf?
Very true, I got a small mountain of parts in the basement
Made a little bit more progress today after I got cold outside and I couldn’t work on the car anymore. I’ve got the neck all ribbed up and the baseplate laid and the forward gun emplacements done. I figured out a new way to do my armor tiles and I don’t know why I didn’t think of this before. Template the support plate and draw out the armor plates on the new piece and then chop them out. What I have to do though is go buy a couple of more exacto handles and get some narrower blunt, or flat faced chopping blades so I can make accurate cuts straight down. This should make doing the Pegasus, whenever that happens…much easier
Well you know, no matter what I do with this thing, someone somewhere sometime is gonna pick at it so I’m doing my best lolLoving those details
Well that’s a tough one, as a model builder I’m sad that nearly all the model makers for movies and tv had to transition to other work but it’s hard to beat the quality of CGI for realismYou know, I always wondered what the show would have been like if they had used model miniatures instead of CG for certain scenes. And this makes me wonder it even more. Can't wait to see the end result.![]()
Many thanksFantastic, such a beautifully designed ship.
Thanks brother, it’s been laborious to say the leastThe amount of work that went into this is very impressive
Beast is a great way of putting it lolLooks amazing...
I don't know you go about this. I've found that sometimes it's a good idea to walk away from something for a while, other times I need to fix it right away, cuz I know if I don't, I never will.
Either way this is a beast of a build, my hats off to you sir.
