Battlestar Galactica 2003 scratch build

Yeah yeah, the armor tiles don’t match what’s on TV or the Mobius kit for that matter but this stuff is hard and they’re on there

Looks absolutely amazing... Supperb job man.

If someone has an issue with your model, they can keep it to themselves and go scratch build their own battlestar.

Tell me, What LEDs are you using, I noticed you running it off of a 9 volt and it dosn't look like there's a resistor in there?

I have a variety of LEDs 5mm blue flicker for the sublights, and pretty much everything else is a 3mm flat top, they’re better for fiber optic illumination. The flight pods are all 2 mm in the floor and then the ceiling lights in the flight pods are nano smd’s‘s and the indicator lights on the ends are Z size. Yes I have resistors on them the little blue ones with the brown and tan stripes may be a black stripe to and they have a range of 5 to 12 so they were pretty good. And if anything is too bright I’m just adding an extra resistor

Getting closer by the day on finishing the gator head. I’m going to prepaint the guns for the head and the surfaces they rest on ie the trench. Those areas are relatively dark anyway. Then when I go to paint the ship I’ll loosely mask them off. I have no doubt that will take the entire weekend. Then I’m either going to start on the starboard flight pod, or go to the rear and do the other two engines. I’ll leave the center section to finish up last so I’ll have access to finish up the wiring. At some point soon I’m gonna have to start figuring out a base and a support rod

In an odd way it kind of looks cool in that black and white scheme

But of course looking forward to seeing it in full metallic color

You've done a man's job sir!...

No wait, wrong franchise...

But still this is frakking amazing. I honestly dont think you should worry that much about the paint job. I mean giving it an all metal paint job and then going in with washes in the recesses will get you 95 percent of the way. Doing the panels last will be easy.

Remember to have fun

Many thanks for the encouragement my friend, this thing is incredibly challenging though and I’d hate to have spent 6 months building this thing and then botch the finish. Lol

Save for the guns the head construction is complete. You guys be sure to give me a heads up if you notice anything that I need to do

Also did some mock-up of the guns on the belly and the gator. Let me know if something doesn’t look right

Dude...

I still can't wrap my brain around the fact that this is scratch build. It's crazy.

"let you know if something doesn't look right?!" brother... It's perfect!

Well I appreciate that my friend, but perfect it is not but it’ll be good enough for who it’s for. I’m sure I’ll do better next winter when I try to build the Pegasus lol
