Battleship <Spoilers> don't look if you have not seen it.

Re: Battleship

AFter reading everyones reviews I went in to watchign this movie expecting a crap fest. Instead what I got was a great fun way to forget about the troubles of life for an hour and a half. My son loves the action, and honestly I was pleasently suprised. Sure it is not going to go down in the history of the world as a classic. But to kill 90 mins and just sit back and give the brain a rest and eat some popcorn with my boy, this is the perfect movie for that.

My son also got something out of the movie, Spoilers.........
At the end when the retired guys prep the ship and join the fight. He turned to me and said "I guess once a soldier always a soldier". I thought that was a great thing for him to learn.

and LIKED IT.... not love, but i was expecting junk and was pleasantly surprised.

I liked bringing in the vets at the end.... really cool

Re: Battleship

Why do critics hate this movie? I saw the trailer and I definitely wanted to see it. Great movie, great soundtrack.

Just saw it on the movie channels recently. It wasn't a great movie, but it could have been worse (or in other words, it was okay). Frankly, I could have done without them ripping off the entire premise of the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica miniseries for the final act (seriously, they took it from BSG. I mean, they go to the dry-dock and break out "the old museum piece" to take the fight to the enemy. That just screams, "Hey, BSG fans, we're ripping this off just for you!"). Frankly, it probably would have been better if they had made it a period piece as much as an alien invasion piece (hey, they did it with Cowboys and Aliens. Plus, by having it set in the 1950s, they could have actually included a Battleship in the fight from the get-go).

One thing I didn't like was the fact they had tons of music that is sort of patriotic film, yet they end the film on an anti-war song. Really? Going through all of that, trying to hype up about how kick-ass the Navy is, and then you end it on "Fortunate Son" by CCR?

there's a B movie on Netflix called American Warship; a rip-off of Battleship. In spite of the poor graphics and bad acting, I actually found it more enjoyable than Battleship. :lol

It wasn't a bad movie! Plus, I think it was GREAT seeing old salty sailors aboard the Battleship at the end.

"Sir, are we really going to fire on Oahu?"
"Looks like it."
"Hoooollllllyyyyy ****!"
