I know it's a different universe, but I always felt that Professor X could kill Superman. He could just turn Superman's brain off mid flight and let him drop to the ground.

I still maintain that the overall premise of the movie will not be "Batman vs Superman", though I am sure the two will have a scene of disagreement that shows Supes power over Batman, but Batman's ingenuity to counter it.
Overall, I expect to see our two heroes teaming up to defeat a Lexcorp/WayneTech threat, like a Brainiac style assault.

In this new Man of Steel Universe, there is no Kryptonite, Clark lets Jonathon die and kills Zod.... so, I ain't putting nothin' past them. Cause ya know... this is the new, more realistic, uber-dark DC Movie Universe. (...and, well, Xavier and Lord had similar, yet different powers).

He has always maintained that theres no kryptonite in the first movie, not that theres no kryptonite at all.
They should just save lex for the 3rd or fourth movie, We've had enough lex I thinks, with the action we just got in MOS though this film could hot up to be the best superhero movie EVER!

You know, it's not a very smart move to completely drop the Kryptonite, since Supes is a god-like superhero. Kryptonite should be used in some later movies, not all, since it's been shown too much in the movies.

While kryptonite is his most famous weakness i wouldnt miss it really. Dont forget that someone of equal or higher strenght can kill him without the use of Kryptonite. While my guess is the next one will prob have lex and maybe Joker i highly doubt they will add one of the famous super villains that can take on Mos (Braniac, Darkseid or Doomsday who i would love too see altho the last one isnt really an interesting character apart from being a mindless killing machine)
Maybe Doomsday will finally get a big screen debut in the eventual Justice League movie...but for this next one, a Luthor/Brainiac threat makes the most sense.

I think it's obvious that there has to be a villain or villains in this movie. Do they get someone from Superman or Batman's history (or both?) to serve as the ultimate foil in this movie?
Can they just pull it off as Superman vs. Batman? I don't think so... I don't think we're to Dark Knight Returns status quite yet - Henry Cavill's not old enough and while I think they're going to go for a slightly older Bats, he's not going to be that old.
Ultimately, they're going to need a villain or something to get the two heroes to unite. They've already gone the alien route with Zod & Company, so I hope they keep to something a little more Earthbound... I want a Luthor, but I just don't think Snyder can pull off a good Luthor. Could it be Luthor pulling the strings on some version of his green and purple henchmen? Perhaps - I'm just hoping for something bigger for Lex.
I was extremely disappointed in MoS and the announcement of Supes vs. Bats just left me cold (it's too soon for that). I hope they can manage to pull something good out of this.

Rumor had it when this was announced that (for some dumb reason) they were going to do a Lex/Joker dual villain in this movie as well. Now I like the idea of a worlds finest, but bringing in another Joker and Lex would a horrible idea. Those are two characters that have been done and done to death. Now I know they hinted at lex as an easter egg so he will be there at some point, but the idea of trying to redo the Joker after Heath Ledger's Joker, especially this early would just end terribly. Again, internet rumor that was in an article talking about who would play Batman so not sure if it had any weight or someone just adding their hopes.

Urrgh! Not again… duh! You've got plenty of villains to choose… Darkseid, Brainiac, Mannheim Gang, Toyman, Metallo, Parasite, Livewire… and just whipped that out in a couple seconds and they only got is Joker and Lex? Puh-lease????
