Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

What the hell happened to this thread...:facepalm:lol

Anyways...the real problem is that the writers won't be able to effectively show that Batman was smart enough to beat Superman. And that's the writers fault and a little bit of societies fault as well. We continually roll our eyes when something doesn't jive with us in a Sci-fi flick.

The only way I think would really get me excited about this is if they brought back Keaton to play Batman. But, it'll most likely be another Brit - Nolan seems to like casting them as American Icons. I know he's not British - but if Ewan McGregor pumped up.

I used to want Tom Berringer as Batman - too old now.

A younger Tom berringer would had been great

At one point I thought a younger Catherine zeta Jones would had been a perfect Louis lane

I'm hoping there won't be some love triangle between Bruce. Kent and lane.

My wild guess is Bruce Wayne is heading to metropolis to strike a deal with lexcorp. During negotiations,
batman investigates lexcorp and their controversial dealings. Lane and Kent are doing their own investigation as well. Bruce possibly invites lane to dinner to cause some love conflict. Etc

Keatons too old now too.

Does Batman really need to be the same age? Seeing how the one thing Batman could offer Clark are his streetsmarts, an older Batman may fit the bill - plus imagine that trailer -

Could be they start the film with footage of the massive destruction left behind in the wake of the Kryptonian battle in Metropolis - pull back and we find ourselves in the Batcave - monitors showcasing various reports that " Superman has ended the threat of takeover" Pull back more and we find Bruce Wayne tinkering with Kryptonian Technology scavenged from the rubble. We can't see what he's building on the table -- later when he goes toe to toe when Superman he reveals a Batsuit composed partially of Kryptonian Tech.

He could even find or locate a sliver of Kryptonian rock and finds a way to irradiate and replicate it - he loads these shards into his armor's gauntlet blasters - and Kryptonite Bullets.

How about multiple batman actors combined

I was excited about this until i saw who was directing it. There's a chance for a very good movie but after what i've seen of Man Of Steel i have little faith.

I would prefer at batman-less MOS sequel. Bruce Wayne, however, i don't have a problem with. Although, as mush as i hate to admit it, Jet had a good idea about Batman a few posts back

A gauntlet blaster is probably too much like a gun for Batman to use. I could accept kryptonite plating I guess...

Please tell me that this is part of your deal with DC!

Seeing as Batman is going to be pretty active in the larger DCmovieverse I would imagine they go with a younger person than keaton so that the fighting levels would be believable. Keaton was always pretty stiff with his moves, although I would attribute alot of that to the suit at the time.

Since this thread has now moved away from a private flame war... :)

I'm really not sold on anyone suggested for the new Batman. Ryan Gosling kinda makes the most sense from the lists I've seen but even he doesn't scream Batman to me. I'd love Karl Urban as Batman but not as Bruce Wayne unfortunately. Josh Brolin is a bit too old and it shows. Whoever they cast should be younger, late 20s to mid 30s ideally, so age isn't an issue as they move on to future sequels and JLA movies. And historically Batman has always been casted from A-listers (as opposed to Superman), so I expect WB to cast a recognizable name. As long as the guy is talented and can look the part, I personally don't care if he's an A-lister, TV star, nobody, etc.

I would LIKE to think WB takes on the same approach as Marvel with re-casting talent when they get old/greedy/difficult to work with, but WB historically has catered to talent more so than other studios. So I think whoever they cast as Batman, that's who they'll stick with for a long time through thick and thin.

No brother - I was just flexing my brain in the opposite direction, trying to come up with a way I could see Batman duking it out with the Man of Steel.

We can hope someone will see this thread.

Big problem is they will probably do something 'grand and extraordinary' with lots of cool effects that make no sense in a real world.

The thing about Bruce is that he is dedicated, trained, determined, brilliant, driven.

Clark really is a farm boy who just happens to be really strong!

If Bruce ever did train Clark, than Supe's could defeat a villian without wasting half of the city to do it.

Because there were no fatalities and lots of destruction caused by a batman villain in any of the 7 modern batman movies?

None caused by Batman, as far as I recall anyway

I think the point is that it's not Superman who's at fault for the mass destruction, but rather the calibre of villain he tends to face -- namely someone immensely powerful who CAN cause that kind of destruction, and is happy to do so.

Batman comes up against these guys from time to time, but his battles with them are usually less about having to punch someone so hard that they fly through and knock down a skyscraper.
