Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

...I don't think Superman needs to be infallible to be relevant and resonant. But I do think that what was missing from MoS was the sense of doing what is right being what drives Superman...
It wasn't blatant, but I do think it was represented in his actions--saving the crew on the burning oil rig, saving Earth from Zod and his World Engine, etc.. But we humans are so accustomed to eventually being screwed over by people who are "doing what is right" that many of us are constantly on guard while we're waiting for the other shoe to drop (particularly those in a position of power or wealth whose selfish interests are at stake). Also, modern times are very different from the days when Superman first made his way into the public consciousness, so having scenes of him espousing the virtues of "truth, justice, and the American way" while wearing a stars-and-stripes tee shirt would just be campy and silly to most modern audiences (and probably offensive to a lot of audiences outside of the U.S.).

...To me, that's the core difference between Superman and Batman, and what makes them equally interesting, yet very different characters.

Batman does what he believes is necessary.

Superman does what he believes is right...
I think that's an accurate way of describing the characters' base motivations, and I hope they're going to explore that in Batman vs. Superman; it would be far more interesting than yet another "Let's you and him fight" movie.

But the bottom line is that Man of Steel was the beginning of a new era for DC-based movies and, with the success of Marvel's Avengers movie, their current short game is to have everything lead towards a Justice League movie; that's the only explanation I can think of for them working so hard to include Wonder Woman and Aquaman in Batman vs. Superman. It's like they're writing a novel, and Man of Steel and Batman vs. Superman are only the first and second chapters. Hopefully we will one day look back and see that all of these DC movies form a coherent story, but that remains to be seen.

not sure if its ok to post this here, but I came across an image on instagram that appears to be Jared Leto showing fans his look of the joker on his phone. Kinda of hard to see

I don't know if these mannequins are exact replicas of the actors, but if they are, it's going to be funny how batman is significantly bigger than superman ! Although maybe camera tricks will be involved to make them look the same height.

In the video that this is taken from, the WB rep even says that Batman has a physically bigger frame than Superman.

I'm curious how much Affleck bulked up for the role and how much is just padding. Because while he's a couple inches taller than Cavill, Cavill is a beast in his chest and shoulders. Even in the trailer for Man from UNCLE he looks huge in his suit.

You have to take perspective into account as well. The Batman costume in that pic stands a significant distance ahead of the Superman one.

Yeah I did not take perspective into account. For a moment there I also wondered how Affleck would fit into the batmobile, given the guy in the video barely fits, but google tells me he's freaking 6'11 so I guess that explains it.

I hope Cavill sculpts his chest a little differently.
In MoS he's too "puffy" like a bodybuilder instead of chiseled like a man of action.

I'm speaking about the NBA guy, the one who sits in the batmobile in the video. He's 6'11, which I didn't know and found odd how he barely fit inside. With that said, Ben might be shorter but he's a lot more buff, sitting in the cockpit must be a tight fit.

Current trends I hate- White LEDs on the front end of every new car and super hero costumes with red bouncy rubber ball texture fabric.........
