Batman Begins DEMON Work In Progress..

I'm pretty sure I added an update here with pics too. :cry
I guess it's possible that the new server or things of that nature ate it up??

I'll wait a bit and repost it.

In the meantime thanks to all for the kind feedback. :thumbsup

Thanks AP. :)

I'm going to try adding this update again...let's see if it sticks this time... :p I know we're going through server mods and changes so no biggie. :)

Here's a few more...with and without camera flash...

Hands, legs and wings on the way. The head has been done for ages. Accessories like the cape and the boots/feet still on work bench but not at all executed yet. I havent decided what to do with the feet yet...but it's getting there. :)

Enjoy.

One word for the feet... Claws. :D

BTW nice "skin" effect on this torso. :)

Thanks guys......and yes, I dig the idea of claws for feet too.

The head has been molded and I've cast up a few half faces just to do some test paint up's. The Demon Bat isn't all black..but a bunch of washes and tints of colors ranging from greens to violet's...and he needs to look like he's got some kind of molten or metallic-like charred skin...

This is just one of the half faces. It's cast in prosthetic grade silicone and has the appropriate 'deadener' additive to make it more skin like and able to move with facial expressions and lip movements. It's pretty cool...but on this one I yanked on it to see how far it could stretch before tearing...and it was a lot..but I tore it from the corners of the mouth out. Still, works fine for a test paint up.

Just a test paint up, and I photoshopped the back part of some of them...critiques..suggestions...all welcome. :)

The full head paint up is next.:)

Here's what the half faces look like..

Looking forward to the body also. It's a lot of fun to paint this guy up so the full suit is going to be great...damn I'm sick of black rubber... :banghead

:)

Enjoy.

how the crap did i miss this project?

wow david, that is going to be one ominous suit to wear.

cant wait to see it worn. :thumbsup :thumbsup B)

Tricky thing when discussing the colour of dark objects as peoples brightness settings differ on each monitor. Your pictures are quite washed out so the purple and green appear less subtle than they probably are in real life. Judging by screen caps the mask appears to be all one colour with the use of lighting giving it hues of green and brown.

Personally I would do away with using purple. Perhaps start out with a burnt brown as a base colour and then work in the black and use the green as highlights only. I think the lips would also look better being a lot darker than the rest of the skin tones.

Of course I'm not saying I'm right and this is only one suggestion.

Thanks guys.
It's a tricky blend of colors, but I have a few more test faces I'll be working with as I paint up the full head piece.

Thanks for chiming in. :)
I'm still trying to get a paint scheme that I feel really good about although I do think I'm getting there. For instance on the one above it's got way too many blues in there...Some studio pics of Bale in this full outfit have been leaked out, so some of us are using those to help with the colors but even still...the pics that have leaked out have had some color adjusting done to them so in the end it's still a bit of a gamble.
The purple or violet hues are definately present, but I do agree with you about the browns which I didnt use in the test above. I also really like your mock up. :thumbsup

Thanks again for tips and the response. Every bit helps...:)

David

Thanks buddy..... :)

Here's a bit of an update..

Ok..it's not quite finished yet, but pretty close....Also only the first pic is of the completed one to date...the rest are various ones during the work in progress mixed with what I've completed to date. I messed up the order of the pics while uploading them so it's all out of whack for now LOL...so some may show bolder highlights or lighter hues because they were taken from one step to the next.

All of these are taken without the camera flash. So far I used a bit of blue, violet, green, black and pearl. Depending on how the light hits it, it reflects different colors which is kinda cool. :) The 'look' of this guy from what I can tell is meant to be like a molten or charred alloy....So that's what I'm trying to replicate with it. One thing is for sure...he's not all black OR any one single color.

The neck starts to have more of an aluminum or metallic stain that will carry on to the body when that's ready to mold also.

Like I said...he's not quite done yet but almost. :)

I'm hoping to fit the mask and seal it to my face sometime this week.

....I never had so much 'fun' painting silicone as I have with this one. :)
