Bane TDKR - Tactical Gear Build

Oh that is coming! LOL ... my wife begged me to get a bald cap and I told her, "No way! I'm going authentic!!"

She hates me bald. LOL ... plus my kids say that when I get irritated, the skin on my head starts to point down like an arrow. They call me Airbender! ROFL...

I comprimised and told my wife I wouldn't shave it until at least Wednesday. LOL ...

Worked on the kidney protection portion of the battle belt today.

First, I used thick cardboard cut from a box to create the shape for the kidney protection.

I then hot glued the black vinyl to it, however I realized I had glued it on the wrong side. It worked out well though, because when I put on another layer of black vinyl on the correct side, it gave it more support due to the increased thickness.

I then also cut out pieces of cardboard to be the base of the leather strapping that would have the brass snaps attached. I wrapped the vinyl around it, then glued it directly to the kidney portion.

After, I used large brass thumbtacks and glued those to the leather strap portion.

To attach the kidney portion to the battle belt, I cut (4) vertical strips of cardboard. I hot glued the top side of the strips to the upper portion of the kidney area. I then used the existing MOLLE loops on the battle belt and threaded the cardboard strips through them. After it was placed, I hot glued the bottom back to the kidney portion and it locked it into place.

Also, if I ever decide to mod the kidney portion, or need to remove it, it allows for easy access ... simply cut the four cardboard strips and it will slide off. Much better than gluing it directly to the battle belt.

Got some cheap black cargo pants today. Couldn't find any Navy Blue ones. It will work. heck for $10 I couldn't complain and it will look a little better than my cammie bottoms.

The preliminary pics of the first days Halloween festivities are done. We had the Halloween Party for my wife's martial arts school. The kids had a great day, as did the adults ... lots of food, games, and prizes.

Had loads of positive comments on my costume. Got first place for the adults costume contest. After our school party, we went over to the county rec center's Pumpkin Patch Trail Trick or Treat they do every year.

Many people loved the costume. Even the adults that were making fun about it to be cool in front of their friends, ironically were the ones that kept sneaking peaks at my rig.

Overall, it was a great first day. We now have todays trick or treating as well as another party and costume contest at the Fun Factory.

WOW!! Thats an amazing job. Im thinking of updating my Bane using the rothco vest & condor belt but instead of the LBV, a condor h-harness.

Heres a photo of my Bane from Dragon*Con last year 428.JPG

I am going to be making a Bane costume for myself as a female version of Bane. Where did you find your suspenders, and the Bane belt buckle please? I am new to this, but super excited about making this costume!

Damn dude, that's a badass Bane you pull off. I wouldn't want to go toe to toe with you.

My only critique might be to work on your scowl. You've got the relaxed confidence in your eyes that comes with the career, but Tom Hardy tends to have the wild crazy eyes (most of the time). I think it's how he turns his eyebrows with the scowl more than anything.

Great job overall. The vest definitely looks like a lot of heart went into it!
