I have a loooong backlog of kits, so I'm not unhappy nothing new was announced. There will be TROS kits by the end of the year, if nothing else.

I agree, but I just keep thinking the detail and accuracy will make it worth it...….I hope? Bandai hasn't let me down yet.

I saw the Star Destroyer at Comic-Con--it's really, really nice and I'm sure more accurate than the Zvezda but I just prefer the Zvezda's size. I still haven't gotten a Bandai Slave 1 and I'm sure eventually I'll pick up one of those and the SD because the Bandai kits are just so much fun to put together...

I really wanna get the early edition SD with the lighting kit... but Bandai just announced a MG Gundam Barbatos.

I think there's an element of perspective in the photos making the SD look smaller than it actually is. Or maybe it's just wishful thinking. I just think it won't look as small in-hand as it does in those pics.
Do you also build Gundams? I've got 3 MGs in the stash but haven't dived into them yet. RX-78 3.0, Freedom 2.0 and Strike Freedom. Out of the three, the classic RX is unsurprisingly my preferred design.

Yeah, the 1/100 Master Grade line is my preferred line, though if my favorite design is in 1/144, I will get it in 1/144. I've got a couple of kits in my own backlog (the 1/144 G-SAVIOUR from the panned live-action movie and the P-Bandai 1/100 Astray Red Frame).
I'm surprised that you bought the Strike Freedom, though, it's widely regarded as a kit that shows its age. Still, if you like the design, it is what it is.
I actually bought the SF before I'd looked into the Gundam line properly, so didn't know what I was getting into. The design is quite flashy and not usually my type of thing, but I did like it for some reason. I did think they would release a 2.0 especially after Freedom got an upgrade, but nothing yet. I do love the Freedom design.
The RG 1/144 look really great. The engineering is top notch as is always the case with Bandai.

I wish it were true too. If only Solo and TLJ's box office performances were reversed (and in my world they would be) it would at least be a plausible possibility.
