Bandai release schedule

According to Greg in Japan, the Optional Lighting Kit is only available via Bandai's website in Japan.

So they have the "fan" details molded in to the 6 rear deck vent openings, but does it have solid covers for them or etched metal so you can see through them?

I think (hope) that they are moulded as a grille,....that you can see through them,.....no good clear images yet

It would be odd to make nice interior details and then just cover them with a solid grill, so I do hope the grills are open. I'd hate to get the model and then find that I needed to wait until someone made a photo etched grill set for it.

.....but then again,....just had a negative thought,....the Bandai Y-wing has loads of detail under the nacelle ends,.....never to be seen unless you take them off

....dunno

:( I regret finding all this out too late...but I won't be getting this anytime soon due to ongoing things and projects....I will have to pass on this

The google translate smartphone app is your friend here - it can translate text from a photo.

I just downloaded it on my new Google FI Nexus 6 and tried it out to see if it would work on the colors, and it looks like it does. Thanks for the tip!

This appears to be some of the engine grills. They appear to be solid and not slotted or "see thru". I wonder of Tony could make these like the larger ones for the Hasbro he did. That or a PE part could be made.

I wonder if they put the detail under the solid grills knowing that someone would be most likely offering photo etch parts down the line. The ones for the Fine Molds small Falcon wouldn't fit this, would they?

That's a great question. ..I would say that in 6 months from now....alot of parts will most likely be available to.add resin parts...photo etched etc....I would say it won't take companies long to provide these services

Haven't seen anything available yet for any of these kits yet. Probably because they don't need any aftermarket parts. The Falcon I think is the first kit that could use some upgrade parts for the vent grilles.

This video is of animated stills,....but has some different shots of the sprues

Jaitea, thanks for sharing the video.

I really don't think etched engine vent screens would be warranted for this model, I mean its so small. Is there any point in being able to see minutely through a teeny tiny gap in each louvre??.
If scaled down from actual koolshade to 1/144, it would look solid anyway!. Even the real stuff, depending on your line if sight, it looks solid.
I think its best to use the actual Bandai plastic part.
