As the title states.. I've found one of these at a local thrift store for 15 bucks. Wondering if anyone knows if this is a decent quality starter airbrush, and a good deal?

I did the P on this item with a very similar airbrush. It spits and sputters a little but depending on what your painting that may not matter.

Set to it's tightest setting with the paint watered down a little it worked fine for me.

Don't expect it to be something it isn't. If you have a "Learn how to Airbrush" book it will get you through most of the exercises in the book.

I think you can get the one I have for $9.00 through harbor freight ?

Thanks! I'm thinking I'll probably pass on this one for right now, due to lack of feedback and money. I was kind of hoping for a convincing case to present to the wife about an amazing deal, but I'll just wait until I have the $.

Which won't be anytime soon. But that's okay, I have nothing to paint right now anyways. Heh. :)

MrNotWrong, I'm still drooling over your gun. Looking even better. Hopefully next year I'll have some extra dough squirreled away. :)

I wish I had a better camera so I could get some good shots of it.

I also have a two function airbrush I got from harbor freight that has been a real gem. I think it was about 15 bucks and worth every penny. If your interested in airbrushing and your just starting out I highly recommend that one.

I'm surprised no one else chimed in on this, I guess I'm the only cheap ass here. :lol

The 250 may or may not be good, depending what you want to use it on. It's basically a glorified spray can, not something you'd use for detail work like weathering on models. I hear very nice things about Iwata brushes, but I've never used one. I use a Paasche H for model work, it does a nice job for about $80.

For large area coverage, the 250 may be good. I have no experience with it so I can't comment on it's quality. But I've been using this spray gun from Harbor Freight for prop painting, it really does a nice job.

It's a detail gun, made for small jobs. It's gravity feed, so it can spray with very low air pressure. I got mine on sale for $7.99.
