Wow Charles. Thats incredible! May I ask whats that red material on the jacket?

Aboslutly,
Its tan colored drawer liner (the anti slip stuff) that I painted red.

At the time I was making it was the same time that Kylon was changing formulas in their spary paints. The old can of red I had dried perfectly with light coats, but the can of the new stuff never dried and stayed sticky, no matter how light the coats were.
I ended up having to hunt around at a bunch of stores to buy the last couple cans of the old formula red. (its always SOMETHING!)

The base jacket was just a kids jacket with grey sleeves I found at the thrift store.

The rest of it was just sheet craft foam, aka Foamies.

Hope that helps,
-Charles

Hi,

I recently bought a replica made for Universal Studios Florida's Marty. I recently bought it and I'm quite happy with the product.

It's not 100% screen accurate but it looks the part.

The red body is made out of the rubber yoga mat thing and the sleeves are made out of some kind of nylon covered by which I guess is rubber. The sleeves cannot unfortunately be extended since the ''bumps'' on the shoulders and elbows are made out of metal rings.

The jacket also has a red blinking light at the bottom zipper powered by 2 AA Batteries.

The wristband is made out of rubber unlike the real one which was made out of the office chair part.

here's a few pics (including the USF Marty guy wearing it).

These are all really good! I've learned a lot since my posts:) If I were to make more jackets like mine, only from scratch rather than starting with the B@MJ jacket and working backwards, would anyone be willing to buy one? (This isn't an ad... just an inquiry.)

This is soooo sweet! I'm gonna get it professionally framed:)

Hi all, since this is somewhat BTTF II related to the Marty McFly Jr. part 2 movie jacket I thought it would be best to post my question here, I will make it short.

Anyone that is going to Dragaon Con 2011 interested in getting a Marty Jr. and Griff's gang together? I am making SPIKE's, the blond in Griff's gang, costume and would be so much more effective with an entire group. Please let me know!

Damn...including neat sound effects, awesome work Eddie.

If Nike or any other company ever decides to make an official Marty Jacket replica, they should get you on board.

Thanks Vivek, i appreciate the compliments... I would love to be involved with developing a jacket that could be available to the masses...

Wow Ed you make absolutely wonderful work! Yes I agree Nike should def. get you on board, they can use the same auto lace technology for the sleeves which would totally awesome. Very cool video i'll add
