Hey Doc What did you use to attack the chair back covers to the waist and wrists of the jacket?

The cuffs are made from a urethane self skinning foam so I actually used urethane dyed red and grey to attach them to the sleeves and bottom of the jacket. The next jacket will be the same in combination with either rivets or small screws. The real jacket just used glue...

Wat if somebody bought the batmj jacket and added on some of that luggage fabric over the red parts? Some luggage fabric looks kinda like between ballistic mesh and this homemade material. It wouldnt be as good as the hamdmade kind but better looking than the leather

The fabric liner is not printed... Its actually a crushed rainbow dyed fabric that was then dyed black... The only places you can see color are inside folds and wrinkles of fabric... Its amazing... The more it moves around the more color is exposed... I would have never know this or believed it unless i had seen it in person... I looked around everywhere and asked about having it made and most places just scratched their heads and said "we dont do that kind of work"..

As for price... I dont even know myself... Im not sure how many of these jackets there will be... The amount of time it took to assemble this one was overwhelming... I received several offers for the jacket at the weregoingback event. The highest was 2k... But there will be an ebay auction for the jacket soon since the silent auction for it fell through at the event.

Anyway, heres a pic so you can get a look at how the jacket fits... On the left is Ken (the organizer of the event) and myself on the right.

Hey,
You must be Ed. We have Ken as a common friend. I've been talking with Ken for a few months now and met him just over a week ago in Toronto. He's a great guy! Anyhow... he's been telling me about your jackets and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. You should definately do a run of them. We're all very impressed!!! Make sure you keep me informed. Take care!

Rubbersheetroll.com has some textured silicone rubber in red that is verry close to this material. Im gna shoot em an email about it see if they give samples

Hey everyone. I was feeling crafty and decided to try to make my B@M.J. BTTF 2 jacket look more film accurate. So I reupholstered it. Here's a pic.

Yeah. I used a maroon foam kitchen mat. You can buy it at Walmart for like $8. And the belt type thing is a ribbed bathtub floor mat from Dollarama. I painted it black and cut every other notch shorter. It's only half done though. That's why there's no pic of the back lol.

That is a cool remake of the jacket. I have the b@MJ jacket too but have yet to do anything with it yet.

For the kitchen mat how did you actually attach it to the jacket?

Well I'm a little embarrassed to admit it, but I used hot glue lol. Lots of it. I used a little chunk of sillicone to stick it down tight. I mostly want the jacket for display so it doesn't have to be perfect.
But yeah... I used a seam ripper to carefully remove the bright orange vynal, and anywhere I couldn't get at the seam I would cut close to the edge with scissors. Then I lied out the anti slip foam over the orange "vest" and traced it. (it's easy to do cause you can see through the foam.) Then inch by inch I glued it to the edges around the jacket.
But it's actually turning out really well! I'll post more pics and descriptions along with the materials I used. I'm gonna pick up more foam tomorrow cause I have to do the back still and ran out. But that should be easier than the front was cause I don't have to worry about pockets.
I wish I could afford Docbrown88's 100% screen accurate jacket, but for about an extra $25 and the B@MJ... I've come up with something that looks spot on from about 10ft. away.

I would love to see a thread with your pictures and descriptions of how you turned the B@MJ jacket into what I am seeing there. It is much MUCH better. I will headed to wal-mart tomorrow to see if I can find some of those items you mentioned.

Cool! Yeah I'll make a slide show or something and upload it to youtube of all the DOs and DON'Ts. I've noticed a bit of a mistake with mine already. The dimples on Marty's jacket are in an x pattern. Mine's in a + pattern. So when you cut it out make sure you turn the material on a 45o angle (if it fits that way). Anyways... the stuff is called "easy Liner select grip", and it's maroon in colour. It's still a lighter colour maroon than Marty's shirt so it works out.
